Uuugghh! *slaps forehead* Thanks Gazza!

OK, thanks Richard. I did start adding them yesterday, and the count hasn't moved, but I'll give it a bit longer. Also, just a suggestion, would it be possible to add a way to select (and see) rides you've ridden directly on the park's page, rather than having to click on each ride separately? Perhaps in a future update?

Just wondering how the Park & Ride counts are updated. I have recently been through and added a number of rides and parks which I have visited, and yet my count on my profile and next to my posts hasn't changed. Does it need to be done manually somehow?

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
strop replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^That certainly sounds promising, but I doubt they would call reopening the mine ride 'A New Big Attraction' but rather something like a 'Favourite Returns' or 'Gets a New Lease of Life' in the same way they did with Wipeout last year. That's not to say they aren't considering reopening it (I hope they are), but maybe it is on track, as suggested above, for next year for Gold Rush's 30th. Or, the reopening rumours could turn out to be false and they are infact preparing for the rides demolition / replacement. -
Aussie World have been advertising their 'Tiny Tots Tuesday' which includes a few kiddies rides for a reduced price for a couple of hours in the morning, but one thing that I noticed was the last line... Has anybody seen or heard anything about this show? I'm curious to know what it is all about. Hope it is something entertaining, but it is great to see Aussie World offering more and fleshing the place out into a full day park. Came across this article regarding a $90 Million waterpark development on the Sunshine Coast, which boasts one of the World's largest wave pools... http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-01-28/sunshine-coast-council-considers-90m-water-park/6051450?section=qld Council to vote on "mammoth sized" water park for Coast Full article here: http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/support-for-giant-water-park-grows/2517715/ Looks like the original proposal was in July last year so it may have been mentioned in another thread.

Luna Park Sydney - the future with Wet'n'Wild
strop replied to JulieLovis's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Seriously Yoshi, if someone has news they'll update the thread. There's no need to bump it. And for the record, 12 days isn't "ages" in terms of an industry where parks might add attractions every 3 to 5 years. -

I just knew this thread was going to be awesome from the title. Please proceed...

The parade starts at 9pm and runs for 30 minutes. The park closes at 10, but rides finish by 9:30pm.

MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed
strop replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Whilst it isn't the best structured post, I think the 'breaking news' is not that the car is red, but rather that the ride is in testing. -
Just came across this in Aussie World's most recent email... The email links to this page Doesn't really offer many details, just that more will be revealed closer to the date, but I do think it is exciting that the park is venturing into night time events. Does anyone else think that the new walkthrough attraction may be tied to this event, or may be able to be utilised for it?

^ When I reserved my ticket, I had the option of adding some sort of taster pack, where you got to pick 4 or 5 items for a reduced price. Could be worth investigating. I for one think the food offerings look awesome and sincerely hope they live up to the marketing spiels.

Too right. The fact that specific parts of the track have elaborate scaffolding around them, (it was primarily around the corkscrew itself when I was there last in April) suggests they are working to repair them, or at least, doing an elaborate examination of the problem. Given it was only just over a year ago that they made such a major (re)investment in the ride, I doubt it will be closed without every possible avenue being depleted.

A Topic For Debate: Should Aussie World Introduce Annual Passes?
strop replied to strop's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Well said. You are pretty much of the same view as me. I think they are very reasonably priced at the moment, and it isn't excessive to consider going there a couple of times a year if you are nearby. I also think an annual pass would be too cheap if it cost the same as two, or even three visits. I think at the cost of 5 or 6 visits it is still a great deal for locals. This is a good point. Who is to say they need to just because the guys down the road are. They can play by there own rules. Just a thought, but why not offer something like a bulk buy pass, whereby you get 4 visits for 100, or even 95 dollars, with a year (or hell, even no expiry) to use them. It offers a reasonable discount on the regular admission and encourages people to spend upfront, while not causing a flood of local unemployed bogans who spend days on end at the park just to get value from their passes. -
A Topic For Debate: Should Aussie World Introduce Annual Passes?
strop replied to strop's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I, like you, don't live on the Sunshine Coast, but the park does make a good stopover point for trips to Brisbane / Gold Coast for us. I would consider one if the price was alright as we could make short stops of an hour or two, grab a bite to eat, and continue on our way. That being said if they are too affordable, the place will be overrun with single moms from the Sunshine Coast using it as an oversized kid's cafe, just like they currently do with MW and DW. -
^ It was in the thread titled Pinfari Coaster and Wave Swinger for Aussie World, found here: So we know we are getting a Pinfari Coaster, and a new attraction in the Town Hall. Do you think they are counting the Wave Swinger as the 3rd ride? As it is already in operation, but strangely there hasn't really been anything said about it, and there is no mention of it on their website.

With news of expansion at Aussie World and 3 new rides on the way, I was looking at their Facebook page and website, and the one thing that keeps coming up in the comments and testimonials are things along the lines of "When will you have yearly passes?" or "If you had season passes we would visit all the time!" So, my question is, do you think Aussie World should go the way of the big parks and introduce a yearly / season pass? I can see positives and negatives and was wondering what everyone else thought. Would it be a revenue boost that would help them expand and add more rides sooner? Or, would it destroy the main thing people seem to like about the park, that being next to no queues on all their rides? I look forward to hearing what everyone else thinks...

SFMM - Colossus to close August 16, 2014
strop replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ and don't forget National Lampoon's Summer Vacation! -
^ but on the other hand, if you are a Sydneysider who has even just a one week holiday on the GC, this pass is going to prove to be excellent value.

^ I think that is precisely the idea though, to appeal to a different crowd that probably isn't that interested in Fright Nights. They now have 3 distinctly different night time events and I wouldn't be surprised if next year you got to choose one of the three for your Gold upgrade. I don't know that the event appeals to me either but I think it's a good offering and I hope it is a success.
