^But then you are basically upending the table on the whole essence of the ride: a coaster with onboard music and a musical theme. Plus at the same time you are demolishing an attraction needlessly, and you are back to square one with the problem of MW "not having enough to do". And anyway, do we really want or need another Batman ride? I think its pushing it a bit far with the public to be bringing out yet another Batman thing when there are so many other themes they could do. And anyway, the SFNE version of the ride is themed to batman in the weakest sense, all they have done is paint a big batman logo on the ground, and made the station a purple shed, then put a few trees around...that doesn't count as themed to me! I was only using that coaster as an example of the style and scale of what MW could do, not as a thematic example. It's not as if you would be 'leaving' it Batman themed since that was something Six Flags did, not B&M. Only thing I'm struggling with is what you would name a musical coaster.

I think you'd call it something like you would name an entertainment venue. Think Madison Square Garden, Myer Music Bowl, that sort of thing, because that way it doesn't specify which music will be played, but people will know it as a music venue. Brisbane has such a place called "The Arena", which I don't think would work, but something along those lines.

Most have them on the top, bottom and side: http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig3183.htm?picture=49 http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig2451.htm?picture=4 This is comparable to the arrangement on steel coasters. There is no other safe way to do this on the layouts modern woodies are known for, since the trains would be able to jump the tracks. Some of the old woodies (as in the very very old ones) the tracks were more like a trough that the trains ran within. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Melbourne...ic_Railway.html The coaster would run on the main wheels, and wheels at the side would keep it on course going around the bends. There is nothing stopping the train lifting off the track, so a brakeman is employed to control the speed of the coaster as it goes around the course. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Melbourne...ic_Railway.html

Hey, i was recently in Melb, and a friend of mine told me that there was an approval for a new "theme park development" somewhere in northern melbourne i think. I cant recall the exact place they said it was happenning, but they are pretty in the know and wouldnt make this sort of thing up. Has anyone on here heard anything about it?

I just went on you tube and saw a video of Batman the ride at SFNE to see what Gazza was talking about. :o The ride is impresive and a perfect size for movieworld. Heres the link :

Interestingly enough the ride has almost the same hieght, speed and length of LW which they have a replica of at SFNE

As we all know MW desperately need some more flat thrill rides. How about this except like three times bigger. http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=S...amp;sitesearch= I have riden this ride before at a show and the experience proved fantastic. If MW decided to go with Gazza's Music B&M coaster it could be placed in that area possilbly in a shed. With disco, stobes mist etc etc. It could many types of rock music playing through out the ride. Opinions. ;)

I've ridden this one before myself - thought it was kinda fun but nothing earth shattering. I agree another adult flat ride would be a great addition to the Park. Maybe something for the end of this year until the next big one is planned? I'd love to see one of the HUSS Giant rides like this one in a Gold Coast park http://www.hussrides.com/index.php?option=...&Itemid=169

^Isn't that really just a sideways marvin the martian? The one thing is though, if you already had a music related ride, would you really need a second one that would immediatley be overshadowed. There is no getting around that it doesn't really differ from what is already at carnivals. Plus where is the theming/story. I do think a flat ride or two wouldn't hurt for MW, but I would never want to see anything like Ocean parade where its just full of spin and spews.

I think a ride like a HUSS Jump 2 would be great, I always thought it could be themed to the womping Wilow out of Harry Potter. http://www.myvideo.de/watch/3529175/Jump2_...ark_Attractions I also always a ride like this would be awesome at MW, exactly same size and everything, just themed to a movie http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6wjHqE-I78c&...feature=related

^ I can really see this - the HUSS Jump 2 does kinda look like the Womping Willow doesn't it? It could also easily be themed to a Super Hero storyline as some sort of Doomsday Weapon? This ride is great visual eye candy and would add a new dimension of movement to the place

A ride like El Toro would be nice but unlikely. Does anyone know how much this little ripper cost?
USD$12million smackers according to this website http://database.thrillnetwork.com/ride_vie...87/el_toro.html within MW's price range yes but whilst I have plenty of respect for Woodies, I can't see them building one any time soon Edited by MickeyD
