DCeased Maze returning.

If so, they will be its fourth year. They must’ve paid some serious money for this license for it to return again, because no ‘scare’ maze that is this poor (scares, not production quality) should not be returning for this long

Adapting big IPs isn't easy and I think this is what lets MW down. Having the licence is only the first step. People aren't just looking for the name on the sign, they want the atmosphere, storytelling, and magic they associate with it. WOZ, DCeased, IP's that create big expectations, but don't deliver.

I have to agree here. Look back to some of our older, story driven attractions - Even Lethal weapon opened with a pre-show. Superman at least has a themed queue with audio and visual elements that continue the story right up until dispatch.

WOZ looks FUCKING SPECTACULAR, but it has a real air of abandonment. From the moment you walk under the rainbow, the first cast interaction is nearly at the end of the queue when it splits to fast track and then its only because you need someone to enforce the paid upcharge. The only people you interact with are essential roles that are functional to the ride.

The Woz courtyard is BEGGING for some kinetic energy. Stick a merch cart in there with various woz related items. costume the attendant as they should look coming from munchkinland. have pink bubble wands (Glinda) for sale, and have one spewing forth those annoying bubbles all over the park. A dollar or two in bubble liquid to have those swirling around to bring life to that courtyard would be WORTH it.

If you want to take it further - set up another cart selling snacks. call it the lollipop guild. fill it with a bit of sugar on a stick and some drinks. maybe if the park still produces fresh fruit products you can put a bit of watermelon on a stick or something to have a healthy option (great on a hot day and fruit on a stick sells its ass off in overseas parks)

I think this would really lift the entire WOZ land area immensely and make it something you want to spend time in, rather than just travel through to get the credit before moving on.

The only problem there is we all know they would go out of their way to mess it up. It would need to be done cleanly and contained, but they would make it loud and obnoxious like the games in WW. It should be more Japanese Machiya style, and less San Francisco merch cart outside Pier 39.

I feel some strategic bubble generators around the area would be perfect. One high above the arches, and another on the 3 walls of the area, but high up to disperse correctly.

Look, it's very early days here but there's a number of indications that they're trying to change things up. Im happy to be patient and give them a chance to show us a leopard with new spots before I condemn them for the attempt.

No. Industrial bubble generators that have a cost to operate and won't get refilled. I'm optimistic for change but this is the first thing they'd let go if costs were pinched. Get the kids toy bubble wands. sell the same product you use, and have it rigged to blow bubbles right there on the merch stand. If it sells wands, management will keep refilling them because the money keeps rolling in. There's a reason Disney and Universal both do it this way.

Tickets are now on sale, revealing the dates for this year.

The park have said this is a presale and ticket prices will be going up. I think this is one of the first dedicated presales they’ve done, which gives me the vibe that there may not be much new this year and they’re trying to lock in sales before they announce anything.

This could be because it hasn’t been updated yet, but under the Fast Track purchasing page it lists last years mazes as included:

Also:

  • Event season pass is $499.

  • First Bite is $59

  • Maze Fast Pass is $99

  • Ride & Maze Fast Pass is $199

  • Panic Rooms are $139

Agree, there’s no real surprise here. You only need to look at the past three months, a scaled-back Heroes and Villains event with no after-dark parade, the Batman fly rig removed, no extension or replacement for Thunder Lake, the cancellation of Carnivale, cuts to leadership positions, and reduced trading hours.

There’s clearly a strong bottom-line focus driving many of these decisions. Taken together, it does make you wonder whether a sale might finally be somewhere on the horizon.

Unfortunately, it now appears that one of the park’s strongest after-dark events has also fallen victim to the cuts. It’s disappointing to see short-term creativity and innovation being progressively stripped away.

What makes it even more noticeable is the contrast with what we’re seeing up the road, where continued investment in product, events and experiences appears to be paying dividends.

On top of this mornings info and confirmation of all last years mazes returning, it seems that the precincts and panic rooms will be repeated again too. The horror encounters will also return, but there will be two new ones. Clayface and Evil Dead Burn (to coincide with the movie releases), will join Pennywise and Valak

People 👏🏻 need 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 vote 👏🏻 with 👏🏻 their 👏🏻 wallets 👏🏻

I've said this a thousand times. if you don't like the product offering - don't buy it. If you keep paying them to copy-paste their events, they'll keep doing it.

I think people have noticed because usually the Halloween date and the first few dates would say they're selling out fast at this point if I recall correctly

It is a shame there isn't anything new

I feel like I have been getting spammed by notifications from the village app lately, in the past week I've gotten at least 4 separate notifications that the presale is on, getting really annoying tbh

Presale for Halloween night have sold out

This piece of string is exactly 34 centimetres long after I precisely measured and cut it to that length.

None of the events have 'sold out' - just the pre-sale. manufactured hype and urgency means nothing. They've struggled to sell out these events for years - ever since they stopped including entry as part of annual passes.
