Silver Dollar City's new coaster for 2018 (manufactured by Mack) is looking amazing. They just added a 90 degree drop straight out of the station?!?! :o

Just watched coaster studios video. Was recorded a couple of days ago. This track is VERY new

Sorta looks like Intamin/Mack/gerstlauer. Euro fighter? Blitz coaster?

When everyone on your page already knows what times the parks open, I guess the only thing left to post about is condiments...

It literally says in the post you quoted it will be Mack.

Back in my school days, a group of students studying physics got to go to DW and where a specialised jacket, which recorded speeds and forces, while they went on the rides. And they used that data for analysis and study.

They still do it today 😁 This was in my eldest's school newsletter this week lol:

This is off topic which is why I am posting it here. I have a couple of questions regarding employment at GC theme parks as I plan to attend Uni in the GC in 2020.

1) Is there a large waiting list? For the ride attendant, cleaning and desk jobs (the low paying jobs).

2) Are the hours generally suitable for a Uni student? As most want large flexibility.

3) How often do jobs come up for the low paying jobs?

4) If I start learning mandarin now would I be far more likely to get a job?

Thanks.

1. No, they employ people and cast the rest aside.  There is no 'waiting list'

2. Depends on a few things, but generally no.  You've got courses on during the day, the parks are open during the day.  They want flexible employees, not people who can only work 4 set days a week.  However seasonal jobs do exist that might work for you.

3.  Constantly.  Keep an eye out for the sort of position you're looking for but theres almost always something going.

4.  There are many reasons why you might want to learn Mandarin.  To improve your chances of getting a job at the parks is not one of them.   I would expect that it would be regarded favorably, however being a warm outgoing person will probably count for more than a second language.

@Coaster Hipster Nice vlog, although I think a lot of people here would like to argue the worst Intamin is MDMC ;)

I'd also avoid @AlexB @djrappa and every other Disney fan, Mr "I'm not a Disney Fan" :P

MDMC isn't the worst intamin, the worst intamins are the stand ups and all the older coasters that have B&M looking Track, stop whinging we could be like New Zealand and only have 1 major coaster! I don't think you guys realise how lucky we are! We have some Themeparks that have rides that no other parks overseas have! Be grateful for what we have!

@Rollercoaster_Lover You're right about not realizing how (relatively) lucky France can be coasters-wise. I was mainly poking fun at the fact my country does have some very awful rides (and I did not even mention the infamous Anaconda woodie at Walygator). The Vlog being a one take/live commentary type of thing, I didn't get the chance to express more faithful and accurate thoughts on the matter.

In reality, I think France has a fairly good momentum right now. Not crazy fast expanding like Poland, but adding exciting stuff every other year is quite an improvement over not receiving anything for a decade or so. The 2000s were fairly lacklustre, but 2010s? Let's recap:

- A B&M old-school Raptor clone (Monster, 2010)
- Arguably the best themed El Loco coaster (Timber Drop, 2011)
- Finally our first ground-up B&M coaster (OzIris, 2012)
- A really fun Mack Megalite (Alpina Blitz, 2014)
- A small but relentless Gravity Group woodie (Timber, 2016)
- A gimmicky but enjoyable Gerstlauer family (Pégase Express, 2017)
- Juvelen Clone (Yukon Quad, 2018)

Pretty solid addition lineup actually - and I did not mention some other stuff coming up such as the Zierer looper at Parc Spirou. I believe French coasterfans were for a long time somewhat frustrated seeing neighbouring countries such as the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain getting top tier rides such as Nemesis, GeForce, Katun and iSpeed (among others), while the best thing we had was a fast-deteriorating CCI woodie. Things started changing a few years ago, but it's some lasting impression which is hard to entirely forget.

I suppose it must have been even more frustrating for Australian fans though!

To be honest though, with Europe being fairly easy and cheap to get around and not too big, it's basically irrelevant if one country is lacking rides since there are lots of other choices...

In Australia, most states are bigger than a European country, and most don't have good rides, so having to travel is a fact of life.

Okay guy's, so I've purchased the 89 dollar vip pass from the parkz home page. I just wanted to know whether the coupon code that you get work's at the entry, or do i have to print off the barcode before?

Random things from today's MW visit:

- You can see the top of Rivals' lift hill as you come out from the Hope Island underpass on the M1 👍

- The MRT queue video isn't playing on Superman. @Slick you got anything in the pipeline? 🤔 😜

- RideOp at Scooby had solid belief that the front half would pretty much look the same as it used to. Yeah yeah I know, they're just a RideOp and not Graham Burke.

- I rode Arkham for the first time in many years - and its still a violently rough ride. I'd hate to have ridden it back when the Parkz regulars were complaining!

- The acceleration of Superman is still breathtaking, and will never not be.

- These skylines. Seriously.

- Just rode SDSC for the first time in its current state. Interesting as a layout learning experience, but sorely needing theming. Personally I'd like to see the theming extended all the way to the turntable.

Sight lines are completely different now - and I like it. The pano above from the fountain, and this pic below, outside of SDSC.

Dunno if it was intentional, but seeing tops of GL/Rivals/Superman/Batwing together certainly adds excitement.
