It’s great to see they are finally modifying the queues of their most popular attractions to make way for bigger crowds, but it’s a shame they’ve removed the theming. They may still install it somewhere else in there, but I’m doubtful. A shame when the attraction had some decent theming to it

Dive in movies are back at wet n wild too for a few weeks after christmas, which I actually can't wait for. Hope its worth it financially and they stick around longer. Friday and saturday nights used to be great in summer. If the movies were crap you just spent the night on the slides.

Appears that what is replacing Parkway may be this new Lego store birthday party concept. I know private Lego parties are quite the rage at the moment, so having an official one based at the store/park will likely prove very popular. I expect we’ll see 2-3 designated rooms appear for this,

“The height limit will apply to buildings and structures within the building height control area, including Sea World, Sheraton Mirage and all land south towards Southport Yacht Club,” Mr Dick said.

“Outdoor rides within Sea World will be exempt from the height limit, however, new buildings in the theme park will have to adhere to the three-storey limit.

“This regulation change will ensure future development integrates with the existing landscape and maintains the prominence of The Spit’s natural values.

“With $60 million in funding from the Palaszczuk Government, and a number of community-focused projects rolling out already, the revitalisation of this iconic part of Queensland is well and truly underway.”

Gold Coast Waterways Authority CEO Hal Morris said this is an important step in preserving and protecting the iconic waterways around The Spit.

“We are excited to be collaborating on the implementation of The Spit master plan because we understand the importance of the area to the community and to the future of our waterways city,” Mr Morris said.

“The waters and foreshores around The Spit are a real asset, so it’s important the connection between the land and water is maintained.”

City of Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate welcomed the news, saying the Gold Coast attracts around 13 million visitors each year and a large part of the attraction is the sand, surf and sea.

“Maintaining the height limit will ensure the natural character and charm of The Spit continues in line with community expectations,” Mr Tate said.

“Council’s $35 million investment for transport and access upgrades along The Spit will also improve the visitor experience for locals and tourists alike.”

My reading of this is that Sea World's rides are unaffected (thanks clickbait) as outdoor ride structures like coasters and observation wheels \ towers are permitted to be built, but they can't build a four storey high dark ride show building, etc.

The truth of the matter is nothing changes for SW as the heights for SW were lifted a couple of years ago with the new town plan.  GCB picture of SW is because they don't know what they are talking about.

Village already do a open up the park for Australian Emergency Services, Doctors, Nurses and Carers, Defence Force Personnel, Teachers and Educational each year.

That is only for the active member of the service though, not a further 3 passes to bring family members along for a fun day out...

Australia Zoo has free admission for ESVLs all year round.

oh, and apparently for some reason, correctional officers are included in that Village list. Every year they do it, another industry stamps their foot that they aren't included, and the list gets bigger. Teachers, Doctors, Nurses and Carers never used to be in it either... it was literally emergency services.

Did they this year? I don't recall it happening and back in 2018 they restricted it to WNW and PC.

Dreamworld on the other hand did it in June this year, although no Doctors and Nurses or Teachers.

Have been intrigued, fascinated and impressed by The Imagineering Story on Disney+

Definitely a must watch for any with even a passing interest in Disney parks, or theme parks in general.

Have learnt so much, and appreciate the intricacies and efforts all that more now.

Next episode has rise of the resistance spoilers, for anyone who doesn't want to see that. It'll also be the last episode :sadface: - i'd like to see them make more detailed docos on specific attractions. They would have a buttload of BTS footage...

Nearmap has been updated at the start of this month and there’s no new waterfall, it’s still the same steel structure that’s been there for a couple years now
