Mmm... I still found it to be very fun either way. Black Hole however was like a sauna in summer! Getting into the tube it felt like you were going to melt as it was black.

I can only remember a little from the ride, but what I do remeber is that the brakes were annoying. Wern't they just think bits of rubber on the bottom of the slide?

Yeah... I have fond memories of watching friends fly out the end at 'dangerous' speeds. To me they resembled the grip you would use on a surfboard but I can't really remember. I can't wait for the refurb though!

hey guys, anyone have an idea when they will re-open?

The original slides will not be re opening though some pieces and sections of the slide will remain as is. That's all i can say at this point.

Mach 5 is currently closed for maintenance.

It really depends on when construction finishes. Until everything is cleared away I don't think they will be opening. BTW is construction completed yet?

Finally got to ride the new 'outside' Jetstreams today...Man, I really miss the old ones now. In other news, Black Hole is sporting a nice new paint job...it looks brand new!

Good to hear, new paint jobs are always nice. On a side note, why is there holes in the top of the slide that let light in? Is it for safety reasons?

The side Jetstreams were closed last time I went, but from what I could tell they're now exactly the same as the middle on. (Apart from a bigger gap between drops) Such a shame...

They felt similar in speed, but there is an utter lack of airtime anymore. As for Black Hole...with just about every pitch black waterslide park owners tend to put light holes in to make it seem like you are flying through space or whatever. They did it to Broken Headz at WWW too. Personally I like it better when they leave it alone and make it pure darkness, eg like the raft slide at the Beachouse in Adelaide.
