Constrictor for Wet 'n' Wild

Featured Replies

Is WhiteWaterWorld even considered a competitor these days? This looks seriously great.

I think WhiteWaterworld gave up. Quite pathetic really. This looks way better than your 'average' constrictor. Impressive!

  • See, look what you've gone an done jjuttp.

  • I think BMulls post is pretty much spot on.....Tell me more about why Aqualoop is "the same" as Hydrocoaster. Woah hang on a sec, so first you say you don't bother riding water slides, then you try

  • ^ And anyone who went to ride Arkham in the first 2 weeks knows what that looks like

I had a look at the zipline tower from Aqualoop. I'd say they'll easily have the room on that top deck to run both zipline and constrictor... it's not like Zipline has a 30 minute queue - people have to book timings, so 1 or 2 people every 5 or 10 minutes isn't going to be a big impact. I'm curious though - whether a raft conveyor will be installed here. If the cloverleaf rafts are similar in size to tornado, I think many would struggle to carry them up that long hill - not to mention if you've got a slow moving raft going up the ramp, the people heading for whitewater mountain will not be able to pass for much of the trip... here's hoping a conveyor is planned.

Based on the shape of the site, I doubt a conveyor would fit. You'd have to cut over the body slides and somehow through the ziplines. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Terror Canyon have a separate path to the body slides anyway? I believe you can see remnants of it running alongside the body slides' path near the top of the hill in the image below. post-2117-0-80296600-1347511576_thumb.pn

I was there today and there was heaps more of the slide done. It wouldn't surprise me if it was finished in the next couple of days (structure wise not finished finished). I think for the rafts they will be quite light compared to the tornado because of first there's only three seats, and second the tubes won't need to be as tough and thick as Tornado's because it is significantly slower and 'less extreme' if you get my drift.

Technically Cloverleaf is ProSlide technology so it would be extremely unlikely that it would be on a WhiteWater West ride. The raft will most likely be like that below.

A Family Constrictor that opened recently overseas features these rafts... gallery-03.jpg ...so more like Mammoth Falls.

Is it just me, or does it look like there are picnic tables in the whitewater mountain splashdown pool?

Haha Yeah i think to pool has been drained

Do they send you a soda through the loop too?

I think the cleaning products would be kept out the back, they wouldn't give them to customers.

So, this thing is open now guys.I would've ridden this arvo, but was too busy over at Justice League :)But after park closing I did go over to the WnW car park and get this pic....Zipline and Constrictor are happily coexisting. post-88-0-26337100-1348304467_thumb.jpg

Wait what? From the photo 2 days ago it didn't look nearly close to ready. But anyway I like the colour, it really stands out and makes the ride look worth riding.

Wow they smashed this thing into an opening state. Very impressive work.

And not only that, they've painted those retaining walls in red and yellow stripes. Impossible to get a clear pic from outside the park, but I could see it from the moving car.

It looks great! The whole area is really nicely presented.

No shade in the line seems to big a big complaint.

It'd be nice to have some shade, but to be honest - the shadiest queue line in the park (Tornado) is absolutely freezing most of the time. needs a balance - maybe some shadesails, without TOTALLY covering the queue - so the shady area cools you down a bit, and then back into the sun to warm up. End of the day - who cares - it's another Aussie first, another great slide - to be honest - they don't need to considering WWW isn't competition, but they still did, replacing an old defunct slide that has sat SBNO for a few years - I'm loving the new direction taken by the VRTPs...instead of one park getting a new attraction every year, they've gone to new attractions for all parks.... hopefully their current business model allows them to continue it.
