Was just at Dreamworld and visiting the Wipeout site, they had at least 15 workers working on it, they were ontop of the ride installing the motors and gearboxes and they had casings for them near the fence, they were starting to get ready to lay down the last piece of concrete for the path, was speaking to the painter and he said he finishes up Wednesday and they hope to have it going by Friday/Saturday.

Today I was back out at Dreamworld and have a few photos from around Ocean Parade to share...

The sign is back looking fresh as ever.

The new thrill ride is really starting to move along.

Still a lot to be done, but there is progress.

Hope this has gives an orientation of how everything is positioned.

Over at Wipeout...

The queue has new railings, posts, paint and a ceiling (the original queue didn't have a ceiling, just beams holding up the roof)

They've gone all out with the jagged lines.

This will be a path in the very near future.

Not sure if I'm too keen on the new surf board colour scheme and logo.

I know some photos of Wipeout were put up earlier today but I thought I'd share mine anyway. Also, what do people think the new thrill ride will be after seeing the new concrete which has been laid? Hope this has helped.

Are there disc shaped covers to go over them?

Thanks for the ongoing updates WipeoutDreamworldFan and Downunder196 for your continued updates, i am thrilled at the level of effort dw are putting into this.

Great photos, I couldn't believe how many workers they had working on Wipeout today.

Yeah must've been desperate to get the thing ready for testing.

Why wouldn't Dreamworld have planned to have it up and running for the start of last week? Maybe there were issues I guess...

Brief change of topic, but has anyone noticed the influx of Marvel superhero merchandise at Dreamworld in recent times? There is a whole corner of the emporium devoted to Marvel. A sign, or just a cheap deal their merchandising team managed to secure?

Dreamworld's retail strategy has long been to sell generic surf brands, and other brands that have nothing to do with Dreamworld. I suspect this is merely an extension of that.

Another point which was raised a week ago (the 'river')...

Today I noticed the lake or dam or whatever it is behind the log ride. Lilly pads all around it and the water is nice and clean. There is no way Dreamworld look after that water, so why is it so clean compared to the 'river' in the park?

Algae generally doesn't grow too well in the colder months. Anyone with a swimming pool can attest to that. I guess it has somewhat died back a little, come summer expect that to change grossly unless of course something is done about it

The "lake" where Dreamworld gets the water for its water rides (ie behind the log ride) is also a flowing Creek (Oakey Creek). It's dammed up where the bridge to vintage cars is, but it has constant water flowing into it upstream from the Creek. As far as I am aware, the Murisippi has no inflow other than rain and probably park drainage, and the river overflows into Oakey Creek. So that's a little insight into the parks waterway systems.

Looks like Dreamworld may finally be cleaning up its act*, literally!

* Or could be a result of the cooler weather

This is so exciting!! Can't wait to see the pictures, did you get a chance to video it by any chance? If not is it doing the same cycle as before? I can't believe how quick that has happened seeing as though they only started to install the motors and all the other technical stuff yesterday!

It want a full cycle or anything just a few disjointed elements. Occasionally they stopped it and did something to the motors. They didn't do anything really exciting as a lot of it was done quite slowly. All the pathway was finished to.

I messaged Dreamworld earlier about whether the Wipeout would be open by Friday and the replied back a few minutes ago with "Still don't have an official date as yet, but I would say a few weeks yet and not by this Friday unfortunately."

Thats strange, when I went yesterday one worker told me Friday or Saturday. He said everything has been pretty much done just final touches and testing.
