...to be clear, the Beta will start for anyone who's pre-bought, be it Early Bird or Thrillseeker. The full game goes live just one week later.

Beta November 9!

Full Release November 17! (I've got the 18th off work, as the 17th is in the UK).

 

The updates are coming thick and fast now. Keep an eye on their Twitter/Facebook/YouTube accounts, including Community Managers Bo Marit and Ed Lewis. Conformed in the last week or so:

  • Mine Train
  • Name Rides/Attractions
  • Height markers for coasters
  • RGB colour picker
  • Day/Night switch
  • Wooden Track elements (Woodies coming too!)
  • 2000 object Blueprints
  • Mechanics
  • New mascot - Ellie, a Western Cowgirl
  • Western Themed assets
  • Sci Fi theme
  • Soundtrack for anyone who's an Early Bird/Thrillseeker. (One Track already available)

Revealed this morning:

- Two Woodies (Traditional and Hybrid).

- Two Water rides (Rapids and Flume).

- Customise ride sequences (like what MW can do with Doomsday).

- Add music to rides and speakers throughout the park.

- Track rides (powered cars).

- Triggered events on rides (Audio, lights, effects, ANYTHING ANIMATED in-game).

- Dark Ride (underground).

Turns out that you have to redeem and download the beta separately, the alpha doesn't automatically upgrade to beta, so you can have them both installed at the same time. Fortunately it's only a 5gb download so only takes <10 minutes or so, but that's 10 minutes I could have been playing PC!

Until recently I was on ADSL that would take 5 hours to download 5GB. Thankfully I'm on cable now and I have speeds literally 50 times faster. However, like a humble rap star, I'll never get cocky, I'll never forget my roots.
