Is Louisville, Kentucky a good place to go for a fun filled family vacation trip?

I'm going to have a go at giving a useful response to this question...

What sort of things are you interested in doing with your family? If you're only after Theme Parks then there are probably better places to base yourself – Kentucky Kingdom is there and Holiday World and Kings Island are within driving distance, but I'd suggest that you might be better to put yourself somewhere like Cincinnati instead.

Yeah - the question is pretty wide open, so i'm not surprised with the first few answers as they're just as widely open.

More detail is needed to be able to give you better answers.

Kentucky Kingdom is right there (been there myself a while ago), and it's looking like a must-visit more than ever with the RMC coming. Beech Bend is in Bowling Green, Kentucky though that is really just 1 GCI woodie, and not a lot else, and Holiday World is even closer.

I recommend the "parks nearby" function in rcdb.com, look up Kentucky Kingdom, and then use parks nearby to see what's close.
