Goliath - Adventure World’s new Intamin Gyro Swing

Now that it has been said that MI3 is coming to AW in 2017 I think we should move it into its own thread and outside of the Kraken thread. Also put general AW chat in here. Lets begin the speculation on what the attraction is.

I think you will like the addition but it's not quite up there with a B&M or indoor coaster.

I also want to add that Mark said that its not quite up there with a B&M or indoor coaster. But he has never ruled out a smaller coaster or family coaster. Hmmm nice wording.

  • It is going to be a great ride. The theme was originally supposed to be more GOT meets war craft and as with Abyss. I would have preferred something a bit dirtier/harder/solid,  given the nature

  • Closer view of Mi3.  Does this mean Abyss is finally getting aircon in its queue line?!

I think a lot of people are now looking for a replacement for Bounty's Revenge. It will be interesting to see if this changes AW's future plans or brings the second addition up earlier.

They did say they have already paid MI3's deposit so I doubt this would alter their choice unless they were aware that BR was on the way out quite some time in advanced. As I am sure they would have decided/got their ideas for MI3 quite some time ago.  So I think MI4 might be the replacement to cater for BR replacement. However AW may have already got a ride that suits BR target audience with MI3. I guess we will have to wait and see. Thats why I am guess a family coaster or a Lazy river as that would soak up guest and would be something for all ages.

Yeah, I think a Gerstlauer family coaster with a bit of ride time and theming would be perfect. We also need a decent flume ride.

I wonder how long Freefall/Inferno will last. Hopefully, a couple more years.

I think Freefall was operating for a short while at the start of the season as I have some photos of Kraken and Freefall, which really surprised me.

ah ok, i didnt get to go to the park until around late october/early november last year and dont remember it ever working.

Just thought I should begin the speculation based on what Mark has already told us about MI3. He said Europe so I guess we can rule out a Pro slides.

Trying to make a list of European manufacturers: (Cant think of any others)

  • Vekoma
  • Zamperla
  • Mack
  • Fabbri Group
  • Gerstlauer
  • Intamin
  • B & M (We can rule this out)
  • KMG

So the other thread has announced that Mi3 will cost $7.5 million.  What attraction costs that amount of money? A lot of talk has been about a family coaster or log flume. Although Disney spent $8m on toilets.

Any thoughts on what this sum of money might lead to?

"Biggest of its kind in Australia"

Go through all the rides in Australia from Europe (though the contract is being tweaked by a man in Europe - doesnt necessarily mean the Supplier is in Europe...???) ) that could have bigger versions

I would but it sounds way too hard...

do you think possibly one of those disc coasters? Like Dreamworld has

It just looks so different. I am looking forward to the new Summer nights events and Fright Nights. Seeing now they have so much more space I wonder what they do in the space for these events.

On a side note wouldn't be cool if for FN they did something like the Prison Break Live attraction they had quite a while ago? (2009 I think)

I actual got thinking and was wondering if these new additions (Kraken and MI3) will mean that AW's maximum capacity will be raised. Just remembering how last season they ceased tickets sales and with more people coming to AW and international market starting to come to AW. If AW plans to allow more visitors through the park gates.

Sorry for the double post:

Also I wonder if for Summer nights events they were talking about might include Movies being played in the Lagoon. Like the GC's Dive in Movies.

^ And play 'Grease' the movie, because of 'summer nights', you know?

I hope it's the camping idea coming to fruition or at least extended/exclusive ride time for season pass members.

Gotta be there, Tim.  It's certainly worth it as you only need to go three times to get your money back.  I live north of the river, but work south, so I might have to visit after work sometime.

Well I normaly go 2 times a year. I just need to talk one of my friends into buying a season pass. Don't really want to go to the parks by myself and ride rides by myself.

when you have a wife and 3 kids the thought of being able to go by yourself some time sounds like heaven
