The castle is undergoing a repaint. You can really see the difference in the last photo. And the rides information and safety board is gone too.

Or they already spent too much on a certain new Hyper?

I share everyone's disappointment on this too but I guess it is what it is. If we now have to wait another year I wouldn't go hedging bets on a Scooby-Doo return. What better way to market a brand new ride opening in 2018?

If I have learnt anything for major companies when it comes to refurbishments doing things the most logical and sane way is not the way to go. Backwards and most confusing/stupid is how it is done. Oh and cheap, can't forget doing things as cheaply as possible.

sadly starting to look like this could be a DC retheme witch im hopeing does not happen

My understanding over the past year is that the theming was done for the install last year, but unfortunately lost in some sort of incident. The folks making it then didn't have room in their schedule for many months, and so it just got put to the back of the queue.

I can't remember where I gathered this info, but this was my understanding. Why it doesn't appear to be going in now is anyone's guess.

It's a surprise then that they didn't just contract a couple of modellers/sculptors for a few months to do it then. Would have been perfect for the down time between set building for Pacific Rim and Aquaman.

This is the sign currently outside the ride.

It usually says "undergoing annual maintenance" if that's what it is, but it says "refurbishment".

Has me very hopeful again!
