Great to see there's regular updates (almost daily) updates of the coaster's construction. I don't think i've seen anything covered so heavily or with such detail in a while - keep it up guys.5 points

TLDR (sorry @djrappa) - Ardent thought it could take on VRL. Turns out, it couldn't, for a myriad of reasons. I'm super pro amalgamation and making it another world of Dreamworld's, and I also think the ticket price down the line should reflect that. For now, what VRL can't beat is the fact that you get a solid sampling of VRL's Paradise Country, Movie World & Wet 'n' Wild properties in the form of Corroboree, Dreamworld & WhiteWater World without the heinous walking or logistics of trying to smoosh that all into one day, which makes Dreamworld a very lucrative proposition for out of towners or value-focussed buyers.3 points

Eejanaika / Dinoconda (same, same) is a beefed up variant of X2. Essentially you take the crappy elements Arrow couldn't figure out (or were too bankrupt to do anything good with) and replace them with elements that are a total mindf*ck like the full-full (you spin while the track spins). The big bonus Eejanaika has over all three is its positioning - it's technically the highest of the three because it's on the side of Mount Fuji, and let me tell you, there's nothing that gets your heart racing more than having your feet dangle on the side of a roller-coaster high up over an active volcano. Get some full-full into ya', mate. Dat drop. Shit's fast. For me, Eejanika rings true as the "ultimate" roller-coaster experience, but i'm hanging a reserved sign in at #1 when Movie World's Hypercoaster opens.3 points

No, they're not. A clone is when a layout is pretty much a straight copy...For example Buzzsaw, Arkham, Storm Coaster, Roadrunner, Bug Run. Using similar elements is not the definition of a clone, because obviously every manufacturer has their house style and a certain way of designing each element that works for them. Trying to say using similar elements constitutes cloning is like saying the different sizedd models on offer by a car manufacturer are clones because they often share a family face and design cues, and share parts, engines etc. And B&M hypers most certainly don't all have the same turnaround element, nor are all of them even out and back! Nothing built so far matches Lewas Flash, not even the direction the turnaround is taken in, therefore not a clone.3 points

As far as we know the 2 new IP's have already been locked in for this year as well. They could have even been locked in last year some time. Unlike last years FN when we went on the first Star Tour and they were still waiting for the last one to be confirmed. I don't have a lot of experience with Fright Nights as I have only been in the country long enough to attend the 2015 and 2016 events. But is it common for them to have IPs confirmed for something that hasn't yet been released? If not then it rules out quite a few that are coming out this year.2 points

I saw the Movie World one but the Village one was gone. I'll take a photo later. Now I'm going to checkout Scooby Doo without theming. Scooby Doo broke down 😣 Here is the Movie World sign and no village sign.2 points

The two videos the OP posted aren't audio errors, they're just operators being trolls, & I for one welcome our troll operator overlords.2 points

It is. I drove past at 6:00 and the giant Drop was going up with people in it and the car park had lots of cars in it.2 points

Eejanaika would be my pick of the 4D coasters, they are all good but this one is just flat-out insanity. Dinoconda is a little tamer but still pretty intense.1 point

I enjoyed X2, but given the insanely stupid operations at that park, I only got to ride once, whereas I did several laps on Tatsu at various times throughout the day. X2 felt jittery - the motions between elements weren't as smooth as I would have liked given the way the "third rail" is supposed to work. I enjoyed it - i don't insist on a 'smooth' ride just because its steel (I don't get the hate for HWSW for instance), but thats my only picking point on X. I'd still prefer tatsu however.1 point

I'm sure we'll see some airtime hills when they start working on that narrow strip of land just after the drop - no room for "twisty" elements there, so a bunch of airtime hills would be a logical choice.1 point

I haven't been on many coasters, only on the GC and Universal Studios Japan. But I'm very glad to see that the Flying Dinosaur is coming up on people's lists, as when I rode it last year, I couldn't believe how insane and awesome that coaster was and was unlike anything I'd experience here before.1 point

Here's my take on the element before the Stengel dive. We know the first piece ever to go in was 49. This was leading into the Stengel dive. We also know that the twisty piece is 42. So working backwards, this leaves 6 pieces before the twisty goes into place. That means this totally rules out a normal loop before the Stengel dive. Possible elements could be a Zero G roll, barrel roll or a non inverting loop. By looking at the footings already in place I'm putting my money on a non inverting loop. I'm also now getting a feeling this may be a non inverting coaster, but time will tell. Here's hoping some more airtime hills get installed soon. ❤🙏🏼1 point

Mine at the moment would have to be x2. I just loved the out of control feeling & how insane it was. Honourable mentions to Twisted Colosses & Tatsu, I loved them both so much. I haven't ridden anything outside the Gold Coast or LA, however I'm looking at doing a trip to Orlando soon. Starting in Orlando, spending 2 weeks there & then driving from Orlando to New York stopping at parks on the way. Possible rides to take over my #1 would be Lightning Rod, Fury 325 & i305.. maybe even El Toro. I'm definitely looking forward to this trip & seeing what new rides can make my top 51 point

As I've mentioned before, I don't think there can be anything else in this area except for a loop. There is a footing outside the fence, which is no where near any other footings, which suggests that it will have supports that go up high. There is also another footing almost in line with it, on the other side, close to the airtime footings, which hadn't been used yet. From what we've seen so far, and looking at the other footings placement, I'm fairly certain that before the Stengel dive will be a loop, as shown in the video created by @docoaster1 point

I think that you will find that the Mack Chief said it was 'Similar' to the Flash design - not a 'Clone'. From what has been assembled so far I am sure that most here would agree that ours is showing some pretty ambitious advances on Mack's first Hyper.1 point

This is such an inane topic that I've decided to add a poll to this thread. I'll check back in 24 hours to carry out the desired action. In answer to the question, yes I have experienced an effect or audio problem, and so has everyone who has been on a ride wether they know it or not.1 point

When everyone on your page already knows what times the parks open, I guess the only thing left to post about is condiments...1 point

I haven't been to a themepark outside of Australia before, but I we will soon book for a holiday to Dubai for next March. So pumped to try out the Formula Rossa and some of the other rides Ferrari World has to offer. Although, If i could choose of a ride that I haven't been on that looks amazing, I would have to say either El Toro or The Flying Dinosaur. They both just look so amazing, smooth and intense.0 points

Thing is I'm not the one who suggested an immersive themed land with an RMC then went on about how I'd have it all be about story. No matter what backstory you come up with, when you walk in the area it looks like a roller coaster, and when you're on it it's tall enough that you see thr outside world. You can't have an immersive themed land with an RMC without a Disney budget. I think words like immersion and story are enthusiast wank though, so RMC me!-1 points

Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. If the parks managers read it then it could actually be useful to them as well. On Wild West Falls at Movie World I've noticed numerous issues, including: - Wheel at end of ride as you approach the station is supposed to have water flowing onto it, causing it to turn, but this hasn't worked since the supposed themeing upgrade several months ago. - The guy that appear on the screen as you go up the slope in the second mine shaft often repeats a short part of the message over and over. - The sign in the tent village area that shows the population often has the reduced population showing constantly, and even when it does go up and down, it no longer fits properly in the "up" position. - The building where the balcony is supposed to collapse and then an invisible person falls into the water below, neither of these effects have worked since the supposed upgrade.-1 points
