Here are some of those supports I was on about. Supports for the air time hill, crazy section, the non-inverting loop (including the massive one outside he fence) and also the first lift hill footing. More track installed Plenty of supports around the area Appears to be some supports near lift hill area You can also see the support for the top Stengel dive too And just an overview of the whole area8 points

Here's my weekly photo contribution. Had to include this one because, I think, this is a great photo. I'll continue doing the two shots below until there is no more construction in-frame. I can't tell if these supports are going to be for lift hill or loop; maybe one of you can hazard a guess. I think the fact that we cover these new attractions so extensively really shows how much we love new attractions, maybe the parks should invest in them more often Below you can see the loop entrance (right) and exit (left) with the helix's and cool twisty-ness all around. Another "because I thought it looked cool" photo. Okay, maybe two... And this is the turn after the airtime hill. Lookin' real twisty.5 points

Alright, well I wasn't going to post this originally, but I've spoken to some people who have suggested I should share it. So here we are. Take it as you will. Not sure how old this is or how accurate it is, or even if it's even legit.4 points

From what I understand, Eureka can't actually be reopened again in its current state, so demo is pretty much the only option. I'd take "plans to reopen" as plans to build an entirely new ride while keeping the same name.3 points

A good summation of where we're at. When you start to describe the ride's elements in order, it does add to the anticipation.. Still hopeful that the distance from the helix to the left climb turn at GL will allow a rolling inversion, as Flash's Zero-G is quite late. Might go back and look at the aerial pics again.2 points

More thrills: a non-inverting loop on Movie World's hypercoaster Construction continues on Movie World's new roller coaster and this week the first pieces have gone into place for another roller coaster element never seen in Australia: a non-inverting loop. Click here to continue reading2 points

Please god, let this thread not become like the hyper thread, where the same ideas we talked about when the theme was first stripped out are rehashed again and again for several months...2 points

I wonder if... Sea World... will get a new ride? Do you think it'd be worth moving it for what you gain?2 points

Disappointing you wont me able to see the bigger parks such as SFMM! If I had to choose l would pick discovery kingdom. Vegas has the indoor park at circus circus which features A green lantern style coaster and a few other little rides you might enjoy aswell. New York New York coaster is... okay. But you might enjoy it1 point

I recommend riding Batwing over the next few months. Today I rode in the seat closest to ride entry, and at the top of the tower the view of the Hyper is great. The brake run and one piece of the turn back to the station is in, but the footprint of the station is clear, despite no foundation yet laid. There's a channel dug which I assume to be the underside access in the train service bay. The track from the brake run into the station/switch has no spline at all by the looks of it. Thanks for the new pics @themagician, I'm really curious as to how these supports will work in this possible non-inverting loop.1 point

Yes that's the area. It looks live a very sharp twist. It could be the angle of view from the road but it looks like a fast transition.1 point

Me and @Zanstabar did see a prop that still existed on the ride. One of the statue/characters was still up. Just barely saw it as we went past it.1 point

I hope that means nasty as in insanely good 😂 Is this the area you are talking about? The left & then right hand bend after it exits out of the helix?1 point

No. I'm sure most members will agree it suits SW more and always has. But is it worth the money to move it - because they do need another attraction right now.1 point

Really exciting stuff. However, 'Australian experiences' in my opinion is not so much directed at locals or interstate guests, but those residing overseas. Didn't we learn that something like 70% of DW's attendance is from locals? And isn't that the group of people mostly affected by the decline in attendance? I think a very fun, 'safe' (in the eyes of the GP) family dark(?) ride could be something to win back locals. Not an Australian-themed 'experience'. Of course, I have no idea what type of attraction this could be from their vauge description. Time will tell!1 point

If it's publicly available, then please do link to it, but as far as I know it was an internal staff email that wouldn't normally be available to anyone outside the park.1 point

Well it isn't like they have anything else announced for this year so they have to have something opening on Boxing Day.1 point

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Sunday 5th November will be final day of the SDSC. Boxing Day 2017 will see a 'new' themed attraction open1 point

@ThemeTendo as the piece as 13 on it, it's safe to say these will be for the lift hill. Most of the supports for the loop have been moved onto the road or into the coaster area1 point

Fabulous shots thanks for your contribution @ThemeTendo!!!1 point

@mission I think you are way off tbh... I know i was begging my parents to take me on holidays to Qld to go on WWW when it opened, and SDSC. And they were trips we made. Instead of going to Melbourne or some other destination, the promotion of a new exciting ride that would make their kid/young teenager happy is what made my parents decide on the location of our holiday. Most of my friends were in the same situation. I think the vast majority of family holidays are planned around what will keep the kids entertained, and theme parks play a major deciding part in that discussion in most households1 point

How is this only news to you now? Are you that obsessed with dark rides that you live in a blacked out room away from all forms of communication and you're only just discovering things now? Or are you Amish? Hey! Push reads my posts again! What happened to having everyone blocked?1 point

Best/worst one I've witnessed was when Looney Tunes River Ride was in its first year, and the waterfall didn't stop, and the whole boat of people got drenched.1 point

I'm thinking this is both a good and a bad thing. As a bad thing, DW are in need of a "big" attraction to rival MW. They won't be able to get back up off the ground easily if they don't. However I also think better is what Dreamworld also need, they've put some effort into the park into the past few years, and I think if they continue that around the rest of the park that would be great. If they said "bigger and better", that's when I'd be satisfied. I'm a bit disappointed they don't have plans for any "exhilarating" attractions. Experience attractions are good and all, but you can only have so many, and Dreamworld have a fair few already. Mine Ride reopening is one good thing, but I would honestly prefer they demolished it and put a big coaster in its place.0 points
-
I rode the Mine Ride precisely twice in my childhood and and maybe I'm misremembering it or maybe I was too young to appreciate it but I don't recall there being anything noteworthy about it aside from how dark it was. I'm all for more roller coasters, especially good ones at Dreamworld, but a 'return' of the Mine Ride imo would require an almost complete rebuild in order for it to be anything to write home about. Also, re: the Mine Ride, I'll believe it when I fucking see it. Seriously, it's like the Orphan Rocker of the sunshine state.0 points

I think scdsc is not getting rethemed becuse how popular it is and how kids and older agers love by the way one day thay had the lights on I can the scooby doo robot on the floor next to that 1st steap drop justsitting there in the disco room! And when it gets a fixing update on it thay will I think put 50% themeing back and the other 50% is still being done till december on boxing day when the ride will be packed!-1 points
