Now that is one cool looken coaster

Being attached right now.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW As you can see, the cranes are already dismantled, and are living the carpark right now.

I finally decided to head home after being around since 6:30pm, watching them install the 3 remaining support beams. The head touched down on top around 11:15pm. Was hoping to stick around until the head had been attached and lit up for the first time to see it all working and complete. I left around 2:30am when they seemed to be having issues with(or just generally taking a long time) to attach the back left hand side support to the head itself with multiple trips to the ground and back. And also back and forth between each end of the support itself. I was going stick around until 3am at the latest to see it all lit up but when they still hadn't moved to connect the right hand side support I decided to call it a night knowing they wouldn't be done by 3am. I'll have some photos(If I have any better ones than I have already shared. They are horrible. I know.) I will share later tonight. Been a long 8 hours. 😴

From juzzyD over at Ozscrapers:

Nearmpa update from August 28 And here is a photoshopped, higher quality image of the whole area

@CamBrown That stuff was on the lift hill. Final light test before they lifted it up.

Okay so here are some non phone images as promised but probably still horrible and equally as out of focus.

Staff of Movie World are riding the hypercoaster tonight. I think this is a very strong indication that their going to soft open tommorow.

To me it still feels like they are aiming for a soft opening tomorrow 🤔 The reason I think it will soft open tomorrow is because they have just worked all through the night to get the joker head up. If the plans was to soft open on Saturday, you would think that yesterday they made the decision to stay on site & wait for the best time to lift it up, rather than risk it & try to do it today. The only other reason why I think they lifted it up last night was because they only had the cranes booked in to use it on Thursday & they had to be somewhere else by today.

Whoever took those drone shots is a fucking idiot.

We've got the first precinct, I'm so excited for this one!

They didn't and they're breaking a shit ton of CASA regs in the process. Dumb crap like this gives guys like me who follow the rules a bad name.

NearMap image of Castaway Reef construction as of 28/8/17 *They are clearly re-purposing the old wading pool for the "splash pad"

+1 The budget for that installation would have to be been a set price, with the contractor taking the gamble on the weather. The crane cost would have probably blown away any profits had they kept it an extra day. Overtime would have been considerably cheaper. It probably formed part of the contract for the entire installation, but each part needs to make money of course.

I really don't think it's that.

@Slick

I'm thinking either Sunday or Tuesday at the moment. Gives them two days to pack everything up and make final touches. I don't think it would be Monday because there probably won't be that much work done on Sunday. If they don't finish everything on Saturday it's possible they take a day off on Sunday and finish up on Monday. Who knows, maybe they're actually on track for an opening tomorrow.

My guess is lightening rods.

Working throughout the night. Dedication! We love you scheduling person.

The head is now atop the coaster but unfortunately we don't have any photos to share. This is one amazing theming element!

DC Vivals?

So the Goliaths Awakenig story part 1 has been posted int he lead up to its launch on the 23rd. Next weekend!

Maybe this is will be placed in the alley

So the following is taken from their website: Dreamworld’s iconic vintage cars are back with a new experience designed to captivate and educate visitors of all ages. Not only will guests get to take a road trip around a signed track in new 1920s vintage Ford replicas, they will have the opportunity to see the park’s much-loved koalas at the same time.

That queue layout really confuses me

The trucks that were taking the cranes away arrived while i was there. Around Midnight I'd say.

Yeah gotta remember that head is full of LED and you don't want the electrics enclosures copping the direct lightning hit

Lightning rods makes sense and they're about the same size as the one on AA

Big question is, where are you travelling and how many days do you have for theme parks? Let us know and I'll give you the must dos.

Lightning rods.

When i was at HHA I remember one of the boys at HHA vertical telling me that one of our 200t cranes use to go for around $2000-$3000 a week to keep on site

I thought it would have more like colour... or is it because of the sun?

Haven't been, But Universal Japan, Disneysea, Disneyland, Nagashima Spaland, TokyoDome City, Tobu Zoo,and Parque Espana tend to be the main picks.

It only really kicks in on the portion of your income above the high thresholds. Someone on $90 would be very comfortable.

Thanks for the effort Janine !

And people said the face would ruin the coaster.

Been at MW for the last 4 hours. Got kicked out even though we were fine where we were after talking to other staff. Best photos I've been able to get unfortunately and phone is about to die. Joker head is vertical and has been for the past 45mins but no sign of movement yet.

These ones? http://www.customscenerydepot.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1186 http://www.customscenerydepot.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=2568

I'm sure if you asked Brooke Shields she would be able to tell you where it is.

and that tree on the right removed

Credit to Themeparks_on_the_gc for allowing me to share this You can see as well the gap in the billboard has been fixed

With the mountain being removed, it will be interesting how the track looks. I never got to go on the ride, so to be able to see it all exposed should be cool

Wow it looks good at night

I picture something either this size or smaller if it cost a few million. This is Kahuna falls from AW costs 3 million AUD.

If the crane is being set up, that should mean any day now we'll see movie world's biggest erection getting head.

Crane is beginning to be set up. Tonnes of work around the area happening All the villains have been added to the arch wall, Superman and Batman are currently being installed

Are you there
