  1. Alright I went to DW today, here’s some pics I managed to grab. I also noticed that the jelly belly store has had all of its vinyl wrapping removed and was closed so I’m not sure what’s going on there but I’ll let you know when I find out.

  2. There's definitely some stuff in the works to bring it to a bigger audience, but it's early stages. I might have to get John back down to the park and see what they're up to - maybe that'll inspire him?

  3. I had thought the only change that would be visible externally would be a new sign. I'm very disappointed to see this demolition of the entire facade, and even more so now I know about the Disney connection.

  4. Finally rode DC... and having ridden Shambhala at Port Aventura the week before, I can safely say that DC was a far better coaster! Wow insane! The airtime was awesome! Very pleasantly surprised with the whole attraction!

  5. We had a fantastic Ekka this year on The Beast. Even pulling a record day for the ride on the Ekka public holiday. We finished pack up on Monday and are now on our way to Adelaide for the royal beginning August 31!

  6. Taken from Ardent's FY results presentation. "Planning for Water Park expansion and new Dark Ride progressing". At least the idea isn't dead yet but I don't believe DW has put much of their time into this.

  7. Stopped by MW today too. Grabbed some photos. The strapping under the camelback hill is to secure the supports. It wraps around the supports and then anchors to the ground near the base of the first drop. The top section of track from the camelback was also removed and was being bolted back into place when I got there again later in the day. When I was at the McDonald’s across the road, I saw the track piece completely detached and hovering above the hill being held by a crane and being inspected.

  9. Rode a flying theatre a few weeks ago at Ferrari Land in Barcelona. Loved it. Was incredible. Glad one is finally getting the go ahead in Australia. Hopefully it’s done well with a great film.

  11. Ah Mr Jenkins.. I had all but forgotten about such dark times for DW when a used Car Salesman bought the place. Remind you of anyone?

  12. If it means getting whacked in the nuts at least once per ride, I'll be giving it a miss!😅

  13. I know I am being (really really) optimistic here but I think if these plans do come into fruition and they do build a decent dark ride and a nice new slide tower with couple slides on it, I think they will be back on track. Then they would have to build a decent roller coaster with some sort of appropriate theming and seeing they are supposedly spending 15 million on the I ride I think it will be possible for them to build a new exciting coaster with a similar budget. Again I know this is me being optimistic and this is more what I hope happens then what will probably happen.

  15. Its funny to read all these comments given the rides are a side note of what the show is actually for/about. I hardly think they are killing the show by giving more space to woodchop which is a major part of the actual purpose for the show.

  16. Midway Mania? Please no. I understand that it is popular but I just thought it was crap. Large screens with a basic game and a basic track that vehicles go around. I've ridden some pretty old crappy attractions of similar point and shoot nature-I'll take the old crappy without video screens everyday. I'll take JL3D over Midway Mania any day. Less seriously...Russell Coight's All Aussie Adventure Ride, think of the Indiana Jones rides.

  17. There are now large weeds growing out of the abandoned Jetsteams plunge pool. The whole Mach 5 area is now looking very neglected. There is still no changes with these slides and they have remained in the same state since January, and in just 3 weeks time Jetstreams would have been closed for a year, and Sidewinders closed for 9 months. I would hope that they are pending demolition because the whole structure is a complete eyesore and it looks terrible without its shade sail. If Village Roadshow is going to let these slides rot, please, please just install a shade sail to make them look somewhat normal.
