A lot of work is happening in the courtyard, I do hope they theme it to like how it used to be and don’t just leave it as blank simple walls The back of the entrance sign has been refurbed as well3 points

I do hope WNW do install a new attraction this year. The Buggy’s was the last attraction, but that didn’t last. So really the last proper attraction the park got was in 2014 and was WNW Junior (and that was more of a refurb with a couple new small slides). So really (again) the last major attraction was in 2012, The Constrictor. For a major water park, 7 years without anything major is a pretty long time. I really hope they bring something all new that hadn’t been seen on the GC before. Like a Gravity wave slide3 points

To add to that there is also a new sign on the window of the superhero store for the climb.2 points

I think GCAF and AlexB need couples counselling... I would rather these forums be condensed into a single thread than to continue reading this bickering2 points

Think you’ll find Pin was referring to WnW Sydney that they totally screwed up before selling for a $90m loss2 points

Who is dictating? I was just agreeing with you... (also, it's pretty clear by the fact I missed the latest 'fun with Dylan' that i'm not here 24/7). Side note - can someone tell me when all the kids go back to school? (#cantwait) You're right! @Richard did cover this in his post on Parkz Policies. I've underlined it, but i've copied the whole post in case you're incapable of visiting that thread to read it for yourself. Dylan has done you a big favour - by comparison, you're a saint. Don't bring the spotlight back onto you by whining about something that's actually stated by the site owner clearly in the forum policies. That's a surefire way to piss people off.2 points

See I actually agree with that. But I think a couple rides like that are healthy for parks to have. The 'no way' leads to good fun banter between friends and stories about the crazy ride you were talked into going on and how amazing it was and how scary it was. GD does it perfectly. Thats what I'm talking about when I talk about rides that capture the public's imagination. GD does it, ToT does it, Rivals does it Superman does it. Even Claw and Wipeout do it a bit. (Pandamonium doesn't do it because people look at it and go 'that doesnt look fun or scary, that just looks like it'll make me sick') Problem is for DW that their big 'OMG' rides aren't long for this world and replacements are needed. It won't be long before SW adds a proper new ride and if that captures the public's imagination right as DW' best thrill rides close the it's all over. Yes all parks need more genuine family rides, SV is a good family ride, but that is not what's going to pull them out of a hole.2 points

Theming elements have started to be added down Main Street1 point

I'm the guy responsible for the production of the Sega World video. I probably sat there for about a year on and off producing the video. I made a second video with updates to what is going on in 2018. The statues that used to sit out the front of the park as photo ops are sitting in a junkyard along side the final Wonderland sign. I had a hand in trying to get them for restoration but the owner refuses to sell them, sadly. Wonderland's sign is there for $25k if anyone wants to buy it, though. It is an absolute crime how only the AS-1 ride stayed in Australia post closure, LPM have it at the minute. Ghost Hunters would have been a solid pickup for Dreamworld who had bought Big Dipper used from LPS around the same time. In fact most of the ex SW rides should have been looked at by our own theme parks if they wanted cheap new(ish) rides. On the topic of SWS 2 as Wil mentioned, I did touch on how it could happen in the new video. Probably would happen as some sort of 'retro revival' but I still don't see it being likely.1 point

Thrill rides at a park represent their signature attractions. If Dreamworld built a big 'shit your pants' tier ride, they have a world (no pun intended) of marketing at their fingertips. Big rides brings in big crowds, exactly what happened when ToT first opened in 1997, and DC Rivals to a lesser extent. 2019 looks to be a reasonably quiet year for our parks and Dreamworld should have been aware of this after Village's recent two years of capex additions and seized the opportunity to plan and construct a giant thrill ride that opens in the September school Holidays/Boxing Day window without new competition from Village next door. SV and the upcoming lazy river are good additions and definitely fit well in the park but they aren't the ones that will turn Dreamworld around. If they spent $18 million on something like a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster it would have been a better investment for the situation at hand but here we are, we have a cool little simulator that might not give the attendance boost the park is looking for.1 point

I don’t think I fully agree with you. A major reset like you’ve proposed is overkill. While HWSW definitely needs to go, and ToT either needs an axing or a big refurb, I don’t think tearing down any of the other rides you mentioned will do the park any good. Wipeout needs a bit of TLC and/or a partial rebuild, but I don’t think getting rid of it is a good idea, especially seeing it’s one of the last of its kind. Buzzsaw just needs to be maintained better and I’m sure it will last a lot longer, it’s still a reasonably young ride. And removing the giant drop would be a huge blow to the park, it’s one of the park’s biggest draw cards and is still in much better condition than some of its other rides. That said I’m not opposed to taking out the gondolas and replacing them with falcons-fury style gondolas. Before DW start getting new rides they need to fix their current problems. One of the biggest of which is the way they look after their existing rides. They need to start putting in the proper maintainence instead of keeping the rides closed for half a year and then fixing them with a band aid. If you’re waiting an extended period of time to wait for a key part from the manufacturer, spend that closure time to ensure the rest of the ride is in top condition instead of letting it rot and remain unreliable on reopening (as was the case with Buzzsaw last year). They need to stop modifying the rides without guidance from the manufacturer... These unnecessary modifications are in no way making the rides safer, in fact it’s most likely the obvious. I know that Zamperla and Maurer and all the big ride manufacturers are making their rides safe, but when DW start chucking extra seatbelts and shoulder straps and cages on these rides, I find it hard to trust the safety of those rides any more. Dreamworld can build hundreds of new rides but if they don’t fix these current problems those rides aren’t going to last very long. How long are the effects on Sky Voyager going to last if dreamworld doesn’t maintain it properly? If VR can’t properly maintain some of the effects on JL, Scooby, or WWF, I don’t have much hope for DW maintaining SV properly. Re: a boomerang for dreamworld, it’s no from me. Those things are everywhere and you can get much better small-footprint, cheap rides nowadays (eg a Raptor). I’m not even sure if Vekoma builds their traditional boomerangs any more (only the family ones).1 point

Almost 100% of that is bullshit. You were warned yesterday in this very thread, and this made up crap simply doesn't outweigh whatever other opinions you post here. We've been really forgiving and polite about this but enough's enough - consider this a very public last warning.1 point

Dylan Theme Park Enthusiast, not even an hour ago you said: So what is it? Take the hint, we know when you're lying, pull your head in, follow the rules or we'll ban you again for the third fourth fifth time.1 point

I think @Slick said it best... I think we have enough information to figure out @Theme Park Enthusiast is the same as @dylan_oregan. Fountain and wave boys.... Fountain and wave...1 point

Dreamworld has stated I think that it will under go major refurbishment, in late 2019 with the upgrade of its Tower Of Terror that will be undertaken from its manufacture Intamin. In my dreams, Rocky Hollow log ride will get a new cave with theming elements returning from the old Thunder River Rapids that was demolished late 2018. I super duper wish that White Water World will see an expansion of a lazy river, during this time faded attractions will also be undergoing a repaint with Super Tubes hydro coaster already been carried out. In my wildest dreams Sky Voyager will be opening shortly.0 points
