  1. Yesterday the following was closed at DW MDMC Pandamonium Shockwave Escape from Madagascar Tailspin for a family group and that is a massive closure list and only leaves rides for toddlers, or high level thrill rides with the exception of Sky Voyager. Movieworld had closures but still has rides across all the main groups. Families still have WWF, Scooby, Road Runner, and the thrill seekers still have SE, Rivals and GL
  2. For those wondering if the steam train is still at the park or not... yes it is (to the left of the blue maintenance vehicle) And, why don’t DW open up these stairs to access the Giant Drop? Because of the construction you can access the usual stairs at the entrance to the ride. So you need to head up the spaghetti ramps, but why not keep these stairs open for access too?
  3. Vertical construction on Boomerang has started and Bug looks basically complete
  4. I’ve just been. They are pretty busy. Some reasonable queues for more rides and a lot of people everywhere in the park They have also removed the wall that was under the waterfall in Corroboree, so visually it looks much better. But none of the attractions are open behind it.
  5. From past June 2015 Parkz update: Let’s hope they keep the previous effects, & add mist (for an approximate of 2 weeks until they see it not worth to keep running like every other attraction that once had mist).
  6. Coming next year will be the written test you must complete before you're allowed on any ride.
  7. So this evening was the first time in two years that I got the chance to head down to Luna Park again, and I was able to observe the renovations myself. Of course I managed to get an overview of Maloney's Corner from the office balcony; work on Boomerang seems more or less the same as Baconjack's photos, Little Nipper seems all but complete as does the Whirly Bug (I refuse to call it "Bug" out of principle. Sue me). I did notice that the Rockin' Tug still seems to be at the park which I found interesting. The Big Dipper platform has become a space for storing tracks for the Boomerang. Work has not yet begun on renovating the dodgem building exterior. A ground view of Maloney's corner shows everything's continuing at a reasonable pace. A view of the Little Nipper and Whirly Bug all set up awaiting more theming but if you look upon close... A shark body is just sticking out behind the work fencing. This could either be the coaster carriage for the ride, or it's a new "bridge" for the ride entrance. I really hope it's the latter; Luna Park is in desperate need for some decent bridges like the days of old. Lavender green is blocked off from view but is being used as storage for more Boomerang tracks and other equipment. A distance view of the work so far. So having finally seen the renovations in person now, I must say I'm pretty pleased with what's going on. I just hope these reno works extend to the rest of the park, cause it looks like it could do a with a massive repaint in many areas and given a consistent theming throughout. Particularly at the entrance around the carousel and The Deck.
  8. They’ve had a policy on full face masks, but there hasn’t been a pandemic while the events been on, so they’ll probably allow the face masks used currently
  9. I’d say masks will be required (maybe not for the whole event), but definitely in mazes. And they make only make your party go through the maze rather than grouping you with others
  10. According to the website, 4 things are closed. That’s the same as MW. So don’t bother with MW either
  11. Honestly the kmart boxes were a tripping hazard too. I saw a few people stumble over them
  12. That doesn’t clear anything up, there is nothing to clear up. without the “tower of terror” ride, the “tower” wouldn’t exist.
  13. Was at jamberoo today. they’ve completely Excavated the plot of land where “Splash Out” use to be, slide is no more and splash pool is demolished. They’re really getting a head start!! I would have photos, but I didn’t have my phone on me. Sorry.
  14. It’s decent. There are some cool lego sets to look at. It’s worth heading down if you like lego

  16. Hi guys, I thought that this document deserved its own topic- it has huge historical and current information contained in its weighty pages. Have a look at the list of contents that are contained within: There are some excellent historical maps of the site- dating back to the 1800's and showing the original shoreline before it was taken over by the Dorman Long Workshops. There is for the first time that I have ever seen a map of the famed Cliff face Tunnel that was used as an air raid shelter during WW II There are condition reports on items of historical value with the park as per below: I have cherry picked a few items from within the document to illustrate what is contained within it. Its a long document but one that is packed with comprehensive information about all things Luna Park, the site, the items of historical significance and its place within the fabric of Sydney and its importance as an historical site, condition reports of the historical artworks within the park and even original plans for Coney Island and the site circa 1935. Please sift through it and enjoy the info that is contained within it- its not everyday that we have such access to so much info regarding a park that is 85 years old . This was posted on the Facebook site Lost Amusement Parks of Sydney and NSW ( a great site- feel free to join) https://www.facebook.com/groups/348435523186489 by one of the contributors there so thanks to him for finding this and bringing it to our attention. Enjoy and cheers! Luna-Park-Sydney-CMP-FINAL-December-2019.pdf
