  1. As I’ve already said, DC Rivals took 4 months, but that was a much more complex construction process. If there aren’t any delays, I can see track construction complete within 3 months. After that they’ve got to build the station/maintenance building, queue area, landscaping, pathways, theming and then also testing. In the renders/video we have seen all this rock work... what are the chances they will actually build all this I really hope they do, especially on the back of the SkyVoyager building so it isn’t just a white backdrop. And it will make the coaster even more exciting if you are twisting and turning between and around rock work
  2. Management shake-up: Greg Yong appointed Dreamworld chief Ardent Leisure, owners of the Gold Coast's Dreamworld theme park have announced that Greg Yong will take the reins with current chief John Osborne stepping down for 'personal reasons'. Click here to continue reading
  3. There's pieces of metal mesh/mold things lying around in the carpark that come in the shape of rocks/boulders. It's likely these'll be added exactly or closely resembling those shown in the rendering. I will try find a photo of Blue Fire's so youse can compare them with Steel Taipan's ones.
  4. He sold theme parks to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and, by gum, it put them on the map!
  5. Can confirm boomerang trains are still covered over and aren't on the track yet, however another ride got installed quickly over the week and Sledgehammer is about to be installed with the platform being worked on and the columns staged on the side
  6. Hey everyone, so I just wanted to reply to this conversation I started, today I went to movie world. And the staff were sooooooooo friendly and helpful. At the entry I asked the lady from looking at me which rides did she think I wouldn't fit on. She was so friendly and explained where the harness fits on each ride. She gave me tips for Scooby doo and told me to ask for a harness check for Superman. So the verdict, I did what she and others said and I sat in the back row of Scooby doo, as I sat down I pulled the lap bar down so it clicked and then adjusted myself under it. It was tight but got a green light straight away no issues. Hyper coaster was closed today, and the lady at the front said green lantern would be a no go, so I didn't try. For Superman, I saw the lady at the end of the queue and asked if I can try a harness, she radioed the other member of staff and she said it will just be me and the member of staff and the empty kart so no embarassment. They take you in the exit back entrance wait for the current riders to get off so it's just you on your own and then she tried two seats, the front row is slightly bigger but I fit both. Again everyone was very friendly and I never once felt embarassed or like I was a hassle. The Wild West falls, I got on and the lady clicked the bar down, it did hit my stomach, she asked if I was comfy and I said yep. She was happy and so was I. Overall a great day! My advice is don't be afraid to try, and don't be embarassed to ask, the staff were more than happy to help. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
  7. There is a new event planned for the June/July period, to be announced next month. They did filming today starting at 6AM and into park hours, expect old characters and vehicles.
  8. This can only mean good things for Dreamworld. Great news!
  9. Pretty much. Steel Coasters usually go up pretty quick when they go vertical. I doubt it. Still a lot to get done besides getting the layout finished - landscaping, theming, safety checks, testing, employee training, etc. As it has a different audience they probably aren't worried about competing with Leviathan.
  10. This year Movieworld celebrates 30 years, with the last anniversary celebration being June 2016 (25 years). This will be a major opportunity for the new owners to showcase Movieworld's past but also focus on the future. Last week they did some filming at the park which I am thinking may be linked to the 30th anniversary celebrations. In June/July of previous years Movieworld has run the DC Villians event but this was moved to January this year, I am wondering if anyone has any predictions about what might be occuring?
  11. was at movie world today film crews filing stuff on Main Street this morning normally we can walk in at 9:30 entry was delayed and there was film crews, camera cranes and a bunch of actors/extras in the main street. No idea what for tho?
  12. The hill going into the mid course breaks has now been completed.
  13. Of course. What I meant to infer was that I was going to hit up Dreamworld in the same trip and hopefully ride the new coaster.

Pardon me if I repeat anything mentioned above. Operations will be busy at the parks due to everyone getting back to normality. So while it's annoying to queue up etc it means they are generating profit even if it's just for a few weeks. One train ops. While unacceptable on busy days sometimes operational factors need to be understood. The second train could be tagged out or possibly muggy be close to service or have end of life components* on it rendering it useless possibly for daily operations. Parts shortages are evident in most industries around the world right now. Without making money at the parks you also need to put back on daily running cost. Don't run a train on and your saving on wear and tear. While frustrating for the guest it is something that supervisors etc do constantly think about. Sometimes however these taught and unpopular decisions need to be made for the benefit of the company.
  15. You won't be able to use a Village Roadshow pass at Dreamworld.
  16. Please provide MW feedback, particularity if a specific staff member was helpful, such as the front gate attendant. Direct positive feedback is a lot less uncommon than complaints and means a lot for all involved.
  17. I had a check. And it's defiantly not them testing. The vehicles were still wrapped up this morning. I think it's the shadows of the catwalk. But that was very hard to determine because I got to the limit of the pixels. But, the support poles for Sledgehammer arrived. And assembling of Sledgehammer will start this week! There will also be a half spin mode to allow people in the Green Category to go on with an Adult.
  18. Quite the opposite. lols they have parts sitting in the Carpark since April 2020
  19. Lunchtime today, the fast right turn after the loop is up. a bit harder to see as well but some of the exit of the loop has begun going up.
  20. From what I have been told while Rampage can rotate arms independently with the motor system as its not gravity run, is not capable of flipping the gondola while not straight. However Rampage does still provide a very intense ride experience, however it's not comfortable to ride (Due to shoulders being crushed) However when they installed an entire new gondola with restraint system in 2018 and vertically rebuilt the ride, its much better experience then it was.
  21. how does Rampage at adventure world compare to wipeout? I know its a different make but similar ride experience maybe? Perth is still on my to do list.. And Movieworld over Dreamworld these days is a no brainer if your an adult talking themparks, and soon dreamworld will be No3 on my list MW, SW, DW but I am very keen to give steel taipan spinning car a try I've only been on a spinning wild mouse.

Just in general, 5 minute dispatches are pretty average for MW. I've timed dispatches for DCR and SE and its pretty consistent. I will say that sometimes guests don't help this by not having loose items organised, or not being seated correctly, but it is pretty much a case of apathetic operations. I know there are some ride ops at MW that are passionate about a good guest experience - unfortunately I find they tend to be the minority, and they can't run an entire ride on their own.
