  1. X2 has been retired! https://www.sixflags.com/blog/retiring-x2-magic-mountain https://x.com/SFMagicMountain/status/2104946498374889899
  2. Didn't they recently spend a bunch of money refurbishing the Koala photo area?
  3. Despite its hype, X2 was a one and done for me because it gave me a concussion in the last part of the ride. It was a rough ride so I had my head forward a bit to try and avoid a headache, but in the last couple of elements the forces of the ride ended up smacking my head into the head rest a few times. After my trip I saw some comments from fans that say you have to keep your head back to avoid that. I don't disagree, but rough rides I feel are viewed in a different light. I was surprised by the injury on Stardust racers, as our new Mack coasters are smooth as glass. X2 was not! From a liability perspective, even if with underlying conditions, the machine can't make the issue worse or cause further injury. If a ride needs to have very specific instructions to avoid injury, then the engineering on the ride should be changed to accommodate it, for example leg braces on floorless coasters.
  4. If you're a local that makes sense, not so much if you've traveled from interstate specifically to visit the parks. Having visited the parks from interstate over an Easter break in the past, 0/10 do not recommend.
  5. From what I remember of other closures such as TOT2, as much as the community speculated a retheme, when DW said something was closing, it's gone.
  6. Might be situational too. First time on the Claw I was ill but managed to keep my lunch down (pandamonium wild style took me out XD) 2nd time on the Claw on a later visit I felt OK afterwards.
  7. RCDB may just be speculating on a long term or permanent closure due the recent extended downtime of xcelerator and removal of TTD/Kingda Ka. I'm not worried yet, not that it counts for anything 😄
  8. I'm of two minds about SE's future. Positive Thoughts: While the accelerators aren't sold anymore, outside of TTD/Kinga Ka we haven't really seen any permanently removed yet (others have been relocated). Xcelerator has had a recent lengthy downtime, but was returned to service, and has now had KK's parts sent over to be used. Negative Thoughts: The ride is 20 years old this year, it's not going to last forever. MW has demonstrated in the past that they plan to keep things open and operational, until they don't, and the ride gets quietly shuttered and demolished. Future Thoughts: Intamin LSM launches are 'good enough' in that you'll have a thrilling ride still if they were to retrofit it somehow or replace it with something like a blitz model (like Maverick but with newer more comfortable trains). It won't be punchy as the hydraulic launch but it will be cheaper to maintain. The cost of maintaining vs the cost of replacing will be the main driver for Superman's longevity.
  9. Live in hope, but it could end up just being another main street performance like Wonder Woman/Catwoman
  10. Looks as though DW has started (re)construction! Credit: https://www.facebook.com/GCthemeparkgirl
  11. Honest question here. How have Dreamworld been maintaining Steel Taipan if this is not the case in some regards? It's been open for a couple of years now and I don't think I've ever seen it down for months long maintenance. Are they doing more of it during the morning/arvo being they open and shut later?
  12. Early November shooting is only 3 months away. Surely we'll be seeing some construction soon if not already?
  13. How much would need fabrication though? Did they destroy the track completely during construction of Rivertown? It looked to me like they protected it fairly well.
  14. Looks like the main street canopy supports are getting a lick of paint too: (Credit Dreamworld's Golden Years on FB). Looking good!
  15. This is the 2nd similar comment regarding the gap in coverage - isn't this the premise of what WoO was meant to fill?
