  1. As a kid and early teen I was petrified of the ideas of going upside-down on a ride so it held me back from riding Demon & Bounty’s at Wonderland. Eventually one I muscled the courage to do Demon, realised my fear was silly and I‘d been missing out on a great experience and since then I’ve never felt “scared” about going on any ride. of course there is an amount of nervous energy you feel before going on a new big ride like maybe your first hyper or launch etc, but it’s not a scared feeling for me. If I felt actual fear now, I don’t think I’d ride something as that isn’t a natural emotional response for me to any rides, so it would have to be coming from a place of concern about safety (maybe if I was travelling and in another country where I’d have concerns about maintenance or compliance etc) As for DCR backwards, definitely had nervous excitement the first time but I lent into that and loved it. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times now. I couldn’t do it multiple times back to back as the disorientation throws my head out a big (a little like spinning rides do - something things come on with age with me) but it’s a bunch of fun.
  2. You didn’t really miss anything (imo). Had a lot of cultural info about indigenous living, interactive displays (basic swipe screens etc). At one point they were doing some form of “show” in there, but I never caught it
  3. I have a key. Mainly due to FOMO in case it turned out great. I’m yet to use it for anything including the in park discounts as it is never front of mind.
  4. The only thing that’s false is that statement.
  5. Why would I be saying that? congrats on it being available when you went. That wasn’t the experience when I or many others have attended in holiday periods
  6. VQ may be an advertised inclusion but I can state categorically that at least 80% of school holidays visits it is unavailable. They may put it down to some form of tech error/glitch, but when it happens more often than not and is in correspondence with peak periods, it’s strategy. They get away with it due to this small t&c in the VQ FAQs: Please note: Any operational hours and service availabilities are subject to change without notice.

  8. That “strategy” is straight up queue jumping and why queues jump up from estimated wait time. I’d understand if it’s a parent taking their kid to the bathroom or go grab a drink in a long line, but to purposefully skip the queue is akin to those morons who go and stand in a vacant car space waiting for their friend to arrive with the car
  9. How in the world is this thing going to take another 9 months to launch?
  10. Yet here you are, still posting!
  11. By all accounts it was only operating at 50% rotation for that time, so should probably only be considered as 4 days….
  12. Why? So it can be closed for 10 months a year?
  13. Half a Q1 or 54 Shaq’s stacked on top of each other…. Maybe the printer is an American bloke or they have their spell check set to English (US)? American English is story, and stories. Not correct here where we use British English, but given how American spelling & phrasing is continually seeping into mainstream language here, it’s not surprising
  14. At least they didn’t put it in front of ST. and no unsupervised kids can fall off it at the markets anymore…. credit: DW Golden Years

  16. VQ is often not available during holidays (as a free service)
  17. if they can find suitable new locations for them where personal interaction is still possible, then yes. Dreamworld isnt a zoo and TI wouldnt have been even considered back in its inception if the concept was just tigers on display with no interaction. absolutely it does, and if TI was being developed to open today, you would start with a non-contact model (though i dont think DW is the right place for that model anyway). However i'd say those best practice rules/recommendations would be based off starting anew, and not changing the way existing facilities are run with animals now accustomed to being handled and interacted/enriched through contact daily. In my opinion, which means little i know, DW continue the operation of TI as is but cease breeding so the cycle does not continue again/restart, and let the existing tigers live out their days.
  18. I don’t think I’m the only one who believes once they move to the announced “non-contact” model with the tigers, in turn taking away the enrichment and engagement the tigers have grown to know and thrive within, that the tigers may be better off elsewhere. The area is stale and largely static without handlers on the island as it limits how many and which tigers can be socialised together without trainers present, in turn meaning more tigers off-show in smaller habitats. the whole appeal of TI since it’s inception was the human interaction. Without it, the area can be better utilised (and this is coming from someone who loves/loved TI)
  19. It’s in improvement. Cleary a second thought, but an improvement none the less
  20. New character announced. Good to see them make some additions. with The Flash hitting cinemas next week and the return of Keaton’s Batman, I’d love to see the original batsuit return for this event
  21. Any graphic artist worth their salt will take into account the medium being used to print to. I could have got a 1st year graphic art student on Fiverr to do a better job and for under $50
  22. You are misreading the situation. There is competition running to win tickets to a re-opening night in a few weeks, on a Friday night. There had been no mention of it being open to the GP on the night - may just be VIP, media and comp winners Turnstile man is spinning around in circles.
