  1. Why not do it then 🤷🏻‍♂️… https://www.accc.gov.au/about-us/contact-us/report-a-consumer-issue
  2. Don’t speak too soon, technically they still have 2 hours 53 mins left to open in April…
  3. I get what they’re trying to do… but the execution is just poor and coming across as cringe. Also, stick to the one channel. They don’t need to cross-post the same content across every channel they have. People will stumble across a single post of this “funny narrative” they’re trying to do, and they’ll think they’ve lost their minds. The marketing team is completely different to 2 years ago, obviously not improved.
  4. Shade and decent fans > misters Steel Taipan nails it every time on an effing hot humid day without the need for misters
  5. Yeah… disappointing. Appears to be no external vendors and only a slight variation to their normal offerings. I guess this is why they’ve dropped the “street” and only refer to it as “food festival”. There originally was high hopes of this event soon to be on par with Disney or Seven Seas… not any more. I think it’s time to drop the event altogether, back to the drawing board for something new.
  6. 100% this. I also went on Saturday. I feel like it was less than previous years, there certainly hasn’t been any effort in growing or improving the event. Only positive of the night was the aqua light show, other than that it was all just a bit… meh. Won’t be rushing to return next year
  7. What time did you go? Might be due to Night Market set up or just a buzzare one off. Each time I’ve gone they have the nostalgic/classic/big band music around Main Street and it only becomes pop music once you hit Ocean Parade
  8. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t… Is there anything DW could do that you’d actually be happy about?
  9. Added a stage to the base of the tree… Duhh! Love the idea, but are Flintstones going to be much of a draw card? WB also have DC Kids which could include Teen Titans Go! Or DC Superhero Girls. I also see WB are bringing out Wonka which I feel like is a massively missed opportunity for MW. Imagine a sound stage turned into an immersive Wonka factory
  10. What would you do differently to allow wheelchair access to the DW globe? Im sure once fountains are running and the vegetation grows it’ll look even better.
  11. Jeez… I understand inflation and everything, but this is just price gouging for a 3hr event. Maybe post-Wizard of Oz they can get away with it… but not in their current state
  12. Yeah these are all part of the Creepy Crawlie Quest which is a paid add-on for Happy Halloween. Pay $5 or something, kids get an activity book to find all these creatures, complete the activity, get a prize.
  13. It sure does! Can’t help but notice how DW missed out by not having any lighting elements on the ST train… During HH, having the track lit up, this illuminated snake, the DREAMWORLD lettering on Giant Drop, the fog machines and atmos lightning… it all looks great! Then you hear this dark train come roaring overhead and it looks just a bit… lacklustre. I could just imagine how epic those green eyes, some undercarriage lighting, etc would’ve looked, even during dusk!
  14. @Admin any traction on fixing the typo in this thread name? Flier instead of flyer absolutely bugs the sh!t out of me
  15. Because of a pool skimmer box? 🤨 Come on man… That’s just like saying “oh what a sh!t theme park that will never be great because they use standard outdoor power outlets!” How dare they! Just like everyone jumped up and down, screaming bloody murder when they first began painting the concrete patterns near steel taipan… how about you wait and see what the finished product will end up looking like… it could be a footer for something, it could be a skimmer that’s completely hidden by theming and unnoticeable… doesn’t make a theme park shit or “never great”
  16. If you visit Aus Zoo you’ll get a taste of what the new Tiger Presentations without interaction will be. Doesn’t compare with what the DW tiger show is now, but I guess they’re getting with the times… 🙄 Not sure if Aus Zoo are always doing this now or just for my visit, but essentially they’ll just scatter meat all around the empty enclosure, leave, and then let a tiger enter and walk around finding the food. If the Tiger wants to they’ll climb the pole for the food at the top, or jump in the water for the food on the end of bamboo hanging over the water. Meanwhile, a handler will stand out front giving the presentation. I wonder if this redevelopment will allow for more/better paid experiences like their Tiger feeds, or if that’ll be phased out too… DW don’t currently have cougars at all. They did have a couple late 90s to early 00s. That area is just a BOH yard and has kept the name “cougar yard”
  17. 100% this. RGB lights like this just look cheap & tacky… maybe it’s triggering my PTSD from dodgy 3am kebabs not sitting too well the next day. Really starting to agree it’s missing some gold accents on the floral-y pattern parts (technical term), let’s hope it’s not the finished product and they’ll wow us on opening
  18. Didn’t manage to get pics, but they’ve installed demountables in the RHLR area, presumably site offices for Rivertown/Jungle Rush construction.
  19. Maybe there’s 39 stories to be told about why it took so long to reopen. I mean surely there’s some kind of approval/spell checking process before signage is sent to print right… SMH
  20. This was presented nicely alongside the new ST logo on a printed mesh banner… it wasn’t a massive ugly BADGE logo on a black wall. You’ll also remember between Sky Voyager building and BuzzSaw there was a wooden wall, with a nicely printed wrap about BuzzSaw…
  21. You have got to be kidding me! How can anyone running the joint at DW be ok with this??
  22. But the soon to be infamous “DW black wall” has been more than a day… Being the very first thing people see as soon as they pay their hundreds of dollars, step through the entry gates and enter a famous Gold Coast theme park… boom, plain black wall with stickers… It’s just not good enough, and should not be overlooked. Stab in the dark… 1 day for a graphic designer, 1-3 days for printing, 1 day for installation, $5k printing & installation and your job’s done. A decent attempt at welcoming guests and photo opp for guests whilst building excitement for an upcoming attraction. The wall didn’t just appear out of nowhere overnight, they knew it was coming, someone would’ve taken the time to measure the area, order the timber, construct it… DW had plenty of opportunity to plan and properly present their entrance. Maybe Disneyland have done similar fencing jobs, but I can guarantee it wouldn’t be like that in their main entrance and the first thing people see as they enter.
  23. Please tell me these pitiful stickers are temporary and a proper mural is in planning, or the vinyl is currently being printed… Photo credit: Zac via Dreamworld Times News & Discussion FB Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/2817564521854077/permalink/3478173402459849/?mibextid=W9rl1R
  24. Looks like nothing new this year… Seems like they’ve stripped back their offering from previous years too. Hopefully this is just a byproduct of the works and investment in the park and Winterfest can be bigger and better in future years…
