Even rivals??

Yep. Rivals did a few cycles after rope drop and then broke down. We left and went to Dreamworld after waiting about an hour for it to reopen but it never did so unsure as to when/if it reopened.

It’s great to see rivals already getting a repaint after only 5 years. It definitely needed one, especially when it’s the parks statement attraction and first impression

The only time people voluntarily rode AA was when they wanted their spine readjusted. My favourite in-park photos have always been on that ride because I look like I'm ready to embrace the sweet relea

Longest that I've ever waited for a ride here was Tower (peak summer holidays many years ago) and that was only about 2 and a half hours if I recall. I don't recall having to wait 4 hours for any of t

What about the rides in the kids section?

Rivals did end up opening back up, a ride like rivals is usually never down long

I think if I paid $100 to go to Movieworld and Looney Tunes was the 'draw card' I would ask for a refund.

Movieworld is in such a sorry state at the moment, it's embarassing. Considering the DC Rivals Superhero Night time event didn't return in January this year i am interested to see if they run Hooray for Hollywood this year. It was all locked in before the new owners came in, since then they have invested almost nothing into the park.

If Covid is the issue then Movieworld should have done what Dreamworld did and had a recruitment drive.
This weekend: Dreamworld: Waitangi Event

Movieworld: 3 Rides shut (at least)

4 Days Later: Batwing Shut.

To be fair they came in during the middle of a pandemic with revenue the lowest seen in a long time if not ever. No one was expecting investment in the last 6 months.

That isn’t how recruitment works. If you lose hundreds of staff due to them having to isolate, you can’t just hire new ones as by the time they are recruited and trained the ones you were replacing are already back on the job.

I’m not excusing MW’s poor state and ride slate at present - it isn’t good enough - but I think being cognisant that we don’t know what impact the staffing situation is having in reality in the specialist departments like ride maintenance is important, and is being reasonable in an expectation of heavy investment.

Wasn't Hooray for Hollywood their Birthday celebrations? I can't see that returning for a bit and didn't the Super Villains event originally run in the Winter holidays so it didn't compete with Carnival and to spread the events around the year?

Supervillains definitely was a winter holidays event until last year when it was moved to summer due to covid closures

whilst I can’t specifically recall who/where it was said - I’m pretty sure I did hear that based on the success of HFH they were looking at making it an annual thing. Of course the events of the past few months covid wise may have impacted that decision

Even prior to the event itself it was promoted as to be a new annual event. Not that long after the event the event page changed to "will return". I'm not so sure it was as successful as they initially hoped.

Heroes and villains still says on movieworld’s website stay tuned for future dates, I’m pretty much 100% certain hooray for Hollywood will ge an annual event which I’m stoked about!! 🤩🤩🤩

It appears WWF has reopened so the issue revolving the front seats not being available (unless it was a quick fix) most likely hasn’t been resolved, but one of the trains for GreenLantern are still stuck at the bottom of the lift so i won’t be surprised if it’s down for a while

Backwards DCR seems to be operating again, shame they were able to get it open and most other seats operating after the school holidays ended

All seats operational today and One Shot/Backwards pricing has reduced from the peak of $40 down to $25 (One Shot) and $25 down to $20 (Backwards)

WWF has reopened again and MW posted about the new boats. Does anyone know if the front row is available again?

Unfortunately I doubt it

Yeah it is. It’s been 1-2.5 hours long on the days I’ve visited since it reopened. On one of those days it didn’t open until 11 due to delays, I was one of the first boats and when I got off the queue was already 1.5 hours long.

Is the queue too long? I haven't been back since just before it opened.

the actually wait time for the ride has practically doubled since there is only around 6 boats (from what i’ve heard), the front row on all boats isn’t active and the ride no longer has the moving station

Visited the park today. Nothing happening at all on GL and train is still sitting at the bottom of the lift hill.

Finally got to go on WWF with the new boats, definitely much quieter on the two lift hills but apart from that no real changes.

Wait times were around 45 mins for most of the day. If it wasn't for SE, GL, and batwing being closed it would of been walk on on all the rides all day I would think.

Front rows still out?

That’s pretty horrendous for an off-peak weekday

Yep front rows still out. They are blocked by an elegantly placed bin haha.

I think the only reason the wait times were so long for an off peak week day was the fact that SE and GL were both down. Rivals only operating one train. You’d think they would at least put two trains on it knowing that they are losing a big chunk of capacity with SE and GL being down.
