New Spot for Cyclone

Featured Replies

The current spot for cyclone is right on the edge of the park next to the car park. Could the cyclone be in a better location anywhere else in the park, Although it might be difficult with everything else around, not saying that dreamwolrd would move it but it is just on a blank area, no buildins or anything else to make the ride more interesting than it already is

Well it will change if it becomes true that the current entrance is moved around to the back of the park, they will be able to make the park bigger, and the cyclone would be hidden from the Freeway. But, that most likely will not happen at this time.

THe thing is that it can never be as interesting as it was at Luna Park with the harbour and things around it. LIke the track going through the tower building. At dreamworld you can still see lots of the rides from the lift hill.

I like seeing Cyclone fromt he freeway, it's cool! I think they should just leave it there.

That is really cool, especially when it was my first theme park.

It's also good advertising, being near the freeway. But most people who've ridden it would rather not see it again anyway,so maybe it would be better of at the back of the park. I think another reason Cyclone is at the front of the park is that it's really more suitable there, and also Ocean Parade is there.

well if they made an artificial hill and made it a terrain coaster then that'd be good. I guess I'm thinking of something similar to Revolution@SFMM.

That would be so expenisive though. Maybe build some buildings around the ride with cyclone damage, with theming providing near misses, for example you could put leaning telegraph poles close to the track that give a good head chopper.

Hey,good idea,it would help spruce up the ride a bit seeing as the theming on it has deteriorated alot lately.

Cyclone is such a nice sight to see on a sunny day(unlike demon which looked horrible on a cloudy day. The cyclone would be much better if it had some terrain surprises in it somewhere along the course of the ride

Like the Incredible Hulk ride. How after the inversion off the lift hill it flies towards a mini lake before doing the cobra roll. But before the cobra all this water automatically splashes as the train goes past

Nah think of the costs of moving it to another place in the park, be too much. Anyway i dare say dreamworld do have a good idea of how they plan to build up the old TB site. they wouldnt have put it where it was if it was gunna be in the way later on

Yeah, your right.I don't think they planned on making many changes to the ride either.

The only thing I would change is themeing. I'm sure that Dreamworld has had very good reasons for putting it where it is, alot of which have been already mentioned, and besides, I'd rather it have the same fate as TB did instead of having it moved to somewhere else. But as for themeing, I'd put a nice big artificial mountain inside the helix before the siewinder that you go half through, and swirve around. Placing strobes etc. or even the on-ride photos and smoke around the tunnel entrances and exits would certainly give it a touch of coolness. I also like the whole Terror Canyon 2 thing. Green LEDs everywhere really giving you no idea where you are going but adding a great effect to the ride. And as for the queue. Moving turbine with dry ice smoke running down the slides to give an eery effect, fully covered roof to highlight the emergency lighting running up the queue, smoke machines down covering the bottom floor, and spotlights randomly running around the queue bolted onto the floor and being covered by the smoke, giving an extra cool effect. Need I say more?

They had a mountain inside the heliz when it was at Luna Park, judging by the pictures near the entrance
