Don't be so obtuse.

Of course legislation, codes of practice and regulations aren't going to specify a particular style of fencing. It is going to put forth the minimum requirements. It is then up to the relevant parties to agree on what meets those requirements.

Like the Australian Standards AS 3533.1 Amusement ride and devices has a whole section on

Which the code of practice tells you to comply to?

Plus

For people who don't want to look it up.

Permanent barriers
Should:
• be at least 1 metre higher than adjacent surfaces
• define the zone
• be constructed from suitable materials
• prevent people from climbing or moving through or under them
• be stable and able to withstand anticipated loads and weather conditions
• be secured by installing gates and joints so there is no weak point for entry.

You also might want to re-read the part about relevant parties because you're confused on who the parties are.

Case closed.

Ditto. Mannnn they’ve done good and there’s still a tad more to go!

I’m going to be one of those people and highlight the chain link fencing… really wish they were themed to suit! Something like an old rickety wooden fence look would’ve been incredible.

Maybe they still will be, or maybe they’ll be hidden once it grows in. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cannot wait for opening!

The problem if you go a wooden fence is it will hide your view.   I'm not a fan of chain fences but in this case I would rather see through the fence and see the theme over a fence blocking the view.

Hopefully the next expansion of Rivertown is to retheme MDMC. Hopefully they can engage PICO to do the work on this and completely redo the attraction to properly incorporate it into the Rivertown theme.

I agree MDMC is in urgent need of change (preferably with all new trains that are more comfortable) and that should happen in the next year but another flat is needed down the track. A ride to fill the gap Wipeout left is still required to keep the ride count up and I’d prefer it be in Rivertown instead of more shit being crammed into ocean parade.

Wooden fence is just an example. I’m sure Pico could come up with something amazing that looks like it’s been sitting in the Amazon jungle for 20 years, yet still meet all the regulations

They’ll also know how to ensure it doesn’t obscure views

I don't know what type of fence you would find in the Amazon Jungle.   DW should dumped this fence has to be black idea.  DF's new white fence, is a huge improvement on the black fence.  Maybe Rivertown's mesh fence needed to be more of a pale eucalyptus colour.

Jungle Rush seems to be fenced off with a wooden fence that looks pretty well themed, if they put the same fencing around Murrisippi Motors I wouldn't be happy though as it completely blocks any sight lines.

Frankly I think black chain link is one of the better options for blending in and trying to be invisible. Photographers at motorsports events will often spray paint small sections of the usually silver chain fence black as it obscures it better for taking photos through.

Having just watched the video myself it's either as you suggest or a time/cost thing. The chain link fence would have gone in a lot faster and possibly cheaper than the piece-by-piece fence around Jungle Rush.

They've recently re-done the fence around the Flyer haven't they? Wouldn't be out of the question to see this updated in time if it doesn't feel right. DW have shown that they are willing to work toward getting the right fit and finish, even if not immediately.

I really do hope this investment pays off; while I've enjoyed my more recent quieter visits to Dreamworld, I'm hoping this leads to greater attendance in the park to pay off the massive investment and then help fund the next big thing.

I've seen photos of what looks like a timber fence too around JR@Narrawhich looks great.

Yes, but it’s the same fence. It was black and now it’s white (which is a lot more suitable for the white aesthetic for the ride)

I believe the fence is still black on the stage.

For anyone who didn't see it, from Jaggs recent sneak peak

That envelope fence, would block you're views while sitting in a car.    Like the roof on the cars that will block your views of the plane, as you pass under it.

it’s called a theme park bro… talk about being obtuse 🙄

OK B2.

You know the  car theme of the train is what you would find in the jungle?  The track in unavoidable.

B1 probably isn't the best person you try to emulate today after B1's DW has to build mesh fencing.  🤣

What a lovely way to effectively destroy the view.

The issue Movie World has to deal with is the awful surrounds. Gone of the days of showstages, people want immersion. I don't think they can overcome the massive buildings shadowing the forecourt of the new land. Happy to be corrected, of course. And where the roller coasters are, they seem to have done little to block the outside from creeping in. They don't seem to understand sightlights.

However, if this is our biggest complaint then great!

Also the inside of Jungle Rush gives me Mummy vibes. Will they have a rope to pull?

I’m a Wizard of Oz fan, and have seen Wicked on stage countless times.

I have been far more excited for Rivertown from the start though, a custom layout family coaster with high theming on/off ride wins not to mention a highly themed restaurant, Dreamworld already was miles ahead of VRTP in terms of F/B and Guest Experience regardless.

Will of course reserve full judgment until I have experienced both but Rivertown for me from everything released so far looks like the clear winner.

Im sure Oz will look fantastic upon opening too, but I have no confidence in VRTP being willing to maintain this standard years down the track.
