if a company chooses to go into voluntary administration, they are handing over the reigns of the company to a firm who specialises in asset management and cashflow control. this firm must ensure that all creditors are given equal share (to the value of the debt) of the sale of the company assets and equipment, and also to ensure that the employee's are given as much as possible of their entitlements at the same time. If NTG went into voluntary administration, there would have been a BIG noise about it.

Wow, your not kidding dude:
The problem needed to be fixed. In September '97 the committee spent 10 hours one night hauling up new enclosures for the equipment and re-installing it in a safer, more permanent fashion in the hope that the problems would be solved. Instead the problem became the management of Wonderland itself who claimed that the alterations had not been authorised, when in fact they were - months before. In the intervening time the management of Wonderland had changed no less than eight times. The temporary deal was over.. and SWR was off air again.
Eight times? What the hell happened in 1996/7?

Just an update on what I've heard, the Space Probe has been sold. All I know is that it was sold to a UK company that deals with new/used rides, so the where abouts of the Space Probes new home is up to them. So you can expect to see the Probe come down anytime between now and the end of March if all goes well. I'm sure you'll all be keeping an eye out.

What is it and everyone bagging out someone which has decided to do his own thing? Is it such a crime to make a website Devoted to Defunct Theme Parks, and Wonderland mostly? Is it Such a crime for someone to get outof Everyday land (Roller-coaster.com.au) and get into Defunction? Atleast he is doing something which he enjoys (web building & Maintaining). Is there anything wrong with that? Ever since it opened, there has been nothing but critisism for te poor bloke. Leave him and his site alone ok. Drop it!

Berty the problem is that Buzzy is obviously the only source of this information and it has been used without permission or credit to the source. I know that Buzz has a lot of contacts at Wonderland as I do but unfortunately this is the first I heard about it but it has been on the cards for the last few months. Actually albert I think you may have missed some of the recent happenings around here... The anti nature toward that site is a bit deeper than on face value. Paul was actualy trying to get some quite negative stuff going about R-C and our host Richard. Something us long term residents aren't too impressed with. I also have a thing against all of these sites that really offer no info or insight whatsoever. Like if you're gonna set up a site dealing with defunct parks you might actualy want to get some info on the parks other than common knowledge and some photos not taken in the last 3 years!

What would you consider info djrapper? Keeping in mind Defunction is very new to the market, at this time, in Public Beta, and is having some DB and Scripting Errors? Oh, and the lack of Contributions. That last one is the hardest part actually. I mean, assuming his age (I have no idea what it is, but am guessing between 17-18 years old) how can a person come-by opening pictures and all of that, when 1. Someone that age wouldn't have been at the opening, and 2. when fellow community members are tight wadded and won't contribute anything. Now I would like to see any of you here, build a website, and try to make it the best on the amount of stuff he has. I'm ashamed in you. I really am.

Yes I totaly agree with you its hard to come by the info... Therefore if you can't then why have the website? It's find if you want to have a site for your own little play thing but then don't go touting it as the most amazing thing every to grace the internet... Seriously, crappy website that attempt to bring good ones down serve no purpose. Oh and thats great but I don't need your shame thanks.

ok so a number of replies coming here - Buzz... it would be very funny if you were joking, PM with with some further info on it.... Albert - when DPA opened, it contained a thread that has since been removed, called "r-c bashing" and the description of the thread was something along the lines of "tell me all the problems and complaints you have from richard. you can post safely here, i won't delete it, and if Richard does anything to you, ill sort him out" How can you not expect those who are loyal supporters of this site not to be offended by someone who openly asks his members to "bash" Roller-Coaster.com.au, and the site Administrator, someone who by far is very skilled, intelligent, and fair, but also makes his own decisions about his site in regards to who or what is allowed on the site to keep the peace of the majority? As far as errors in programming, in a conversation i had recently with Paul, he detailed to me his extensive programming experience in CGIPHP and Cisco Systems. While im certain thats a crock, as the site programmer and host is not the site administrator, but a different person... As far as contributions, paul has a lot of images of the park in its early days, from members of this site, and his own collections as well. Wonderbuzz has been a big contributor to this sort of media, but as far as I am aware, a lot of people who Paul has approached for permission to use their material on his site said no, because of - 1) the way in which he approached them 2) his previous bad attitude and behaviour towards them, and other members considered to be their friends. Personally, I gave paul a few photos and videos that would be suited for use on his site, unfortunately, he was too immature to retain the friendship we had, and he never asked me for permission to use the material. I assure you if he were to utilise the materials on his site, I would sue both him and the site owner (who is a nice guy) for breach of copyright. Its a concept with limited scope, poor research, and a lack of materials to make it interesting. Richard devotes a lot of his time to researching information. he has set up a network of contacts to be the first with the info, and also makes constant visits to parks, particularly during periods of heavy construction and refurb to give us updates. how long can DEFUNCT PARKS OF AUSTRALIA last? there can only be so many parks in Australia that close down... and even less of those will be parks that have a broad appeal to the wider community, and are able to supply enough information to sustain a conversational topic about it IN that wider community. As far as designing a site, another user is already in the process of doing so, with site testing being done as I type this. To respect Richard's guidelines I will neither identify the member, or the site in question, but only know that with around the same basic availability of information as DPA, this site will be able to sustain itself a lot better than DPA. Apologies for getting off topic... but to get back to it, it will be interesting to get information on the deconstruction of probe. I recall a maintenance worker lost a finger or two when he failed to follow procedure and a magnetic brake fin came too close to another fin, and they clamped together severing finger(s). I wonder if the plc (or whatever it was that Wonderbus posted a while ago) will be replaced or rebirthed after it died by a shoddy maintenance job...

Yes Joz I believe you a right. I was merely defending my opinion and trying to clarify some information. This will be the last off topic post from myself in this thread regardless... However while on that topic shouldn't you be out abusing your liver and checking up on certain 'things' for me? :P

Paul is the site owner. I do not accept, nor does A.C.T accept responsibility for content posted by hosted sites or by members on hosted sites. If you see something that breaches copyright then email the webmaster at their email address (in this case webmaster@dpa.coastermaster.info) asking them to remove the content. If they are unwilling to remove the content I will personally remove the content (after you have emailed me about the violating material). Now back on topic, does anyone know if a park has purchased the ride or just a sales company?

This is Me trying to be a Smart arse here, but looking back at Forum Archives, I have seen that this "Slick" bloke has more of a Grudge against richard, then Paul here. Now I know for a Fact that Paul Wanted to become Friends with Richard, and Webmaster Buddies. And that This was not his attempt to try and "Kill" r-c unlike Slick is trying to do with Dreamnova. Alex, regarding your comments on "Copyrighted Material" posted, I can also assure you not to panic, as there is nothing there which has not been given permission to be posted up. And also, you said several members said "NO" to let him host some stuff, who were these members, and when was it? Because alot of people have been kind enough to let him use their Media, which has been Credited upto Standards. The only thing which he hasn't "Watermarked" yet is his OWN photography. Such as Stuff from "Fantasy Glades", and Leyland Bros World. I bet 3 quarters of the people here have never heard of those places until Defunction came along, yet seen media of what it was. So come-on, he has a terrific team behind him, and it's almost like the saying "Sticks and Stones, may break my bones, but Words will never hurt me". Because no matter what you say, he will endevour to do his best to please his guests, and no matter what you do to him, i have a feeling Defunction is here to stay. Not as an R-c competitive site, but more of an Independent Site. Who knows, maybe his plans of R-c partnership may end up becomming reality some day.

For those still interested, here is the latest from Defunction (mainly Paul) Source: http://dpa.coastermaster.info/forum/viewto...c.php?p=187#187 Writer: Paul Hollibone I, Paul Hollibone Webmaster of Defunction am Sorry for my Attitude to Roller-coaster.com.au I would like to take full responsibilities for my Actions, and not to blame current Staff Members. My Actions were inmature, and I apologise. I am Really Sorry for what "Mischeif" i have caused on Roller-coaster.com.au I expect this Apology to be spread around the Internet (like most things from here have been) And for those people i have affected, I am Sorry. I am sorry that Defunction is not what you expected, but we are not all perfect. With this apology, I am not Sucking up to you all to forgive me, but to lets just let the happenings of the past couple of weeks Pass By. Lets all start Fresh. Please forgive me for my Actions. As I was not responsible for them before. I admit what I did was wrong, and i accept any Blame, or Abuse you may push me into. Please Forgive me. I am Sorry. I am just hoping that we can put this matter to rest and get back on topic. It is fine to go on about another site, but all that you are really doing is advertising the site (I know it is rather ironic that I am doing it at the moment). If you do not like something you complain to the person, company and/or orgainstation. Can we please get back onto the matter at hand, the removal of the space probe.

Now I'm gussing pulling apart the tower will be a night mission (as the steel will expand in the day) it would be great to get a heads up on when this might take place. Would certainly be a site and something I'd love to document for the site. That's one job that's going to suck, as it's such an early version of the ride it won't be the cleanest built thing ever as being as it has stood in place so long and never intended to be pulled apart it could be a bit of a battle with it!

I never thought about it being a night job. But it makes sense because it was put up at night too. The maintenance supervisor who was in charge of putting it up once told me that they had a real big problem with the construction during the day because the tower actually follows the sun throughout the day, not by much but enough to cause a few issues.
