But this will be a Disneypark, so it will have to have some similarity to the other Disneyparks. I can tell you this, our current Australian parks are shocking! Why would Movie World be like UNiversal Studios??? its not Universal Studios, Australia. Its WARNER BROS!!!! All i am saying is that this park will kill our parks, and will be like a smaller Disneyland with great theming, etc.

I think people have a pretty unrealistic idea of what our parks should be. The lesser Universal, in Hollywood, gets 5 Million visitors a year, compared to Movieworld last year with 1.2. Across the other side of the country, Seaworld in Orlando pulled in a bit over 5 Million compared to our Seaworld's 1.3. There is a difference of 4 million (or about 10,000 a day). Think about that, averaged out, they get 13,000 guests a day. We get about 3,000 guests (averaged out) a day. That’s a huge difference, but not one that I think has made as big an impact on the parks as it would infer. I think compared to their direct counterparts in the states; our parks are of pretty good size and of good quality. They really do punch above their weight. Of course the overseas parks are going to be bigger, there's 5 times as many guests to accommodate, and there is more income for the big $100million rides (even so the difference between our attractions and there's isn't much). Going by attendance alone, they should be 5 times better, but I don't think they make it to being twice as good.

Yeah but if oyu go to some tourist lets say some chinese people and you mention Australia, they immediatly think of koalas (which is a national thing), the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House...which means people immediatley think of Sydney!...WOOOO GO SYDNEY!
Sydney is only well known because it gets the most exposure internationally, not because it's the best and if it was really the best wouldnt mw, dw, sw and wet n wild be there instead of at the goldy? ;) I do agree it should be somewhere else besides the Goldy but Sydney? dont think so. I wouldnt mind a DL here but I highly doubt it would live up to the Disney name like it does in other Countries. We arent as huge as those countries heck the population of Australia is equal to the population of NYC so we are really really small..too small for a great Disney park that everyone expects.

i rekon a six flags be way better, yea disney is the original theme park but its more for younger children and they dont specialise in many thrill rides there focus is more on themeing, forget disney get a six flags
Dude get real, I love roller coaster but Disney is not just for kids, Disney has great adult rides Have you ever heard of Tower Of Terror, Test Track, California Screamin, Maliboomer, Journey to the centre of the earth, Expedition Everest do I need to go on. Sorry dude Im not targeting you it just really annoys me when people think coasters are the answer to everything.

yea i see where u comin from i was thinking of like they were gonna build somethin simular to the original "DisneyLand" in Anahiem and just put Mickey with a cowboy hat ridin a kangaroo or some ...... I think Australia needs a decent thrill park yea Dreamworlds alright, but something like a Six Flags would be good, although Disney would bring more tourists! so maybe they build disney first and then some many ppl flock to se qld from international places and then they build a six flags afta seeing how sucsessful disney was, like thats gonna happen anytime soon tho but hey its possible, I dont think coasters are everything, I enjoy the whole experience themeing etc, but Australia as yet dosent have a World Class coaster, and a Six Flags would bring it -

thats cool. But I would rather have Cedar Fair rather then Six Flags as its a much better run company then Six Flags check out these photos to see what I mean. Cedar Point Photos

yea cedar point ranks at the top of the top if not the best, cant say, havent been there but it looks the best, I dont think they have different parks they only have the one in Ohio, is that right? So I dont see how Australia would get a Cedar Point, espec as its named after its location, That parks so good cos all there effort goes into the one park not 7 or 8 or whatever, but yea any new park would be very welcome

A paramount park would go down excellent in my opinion. I am a fan of Paramount Parks, and several Six Flags INC parks, but in all Seriousness, Paramount Parks are real good value.
Do you remember the one that was going to be in Melbourne @ Docklands?, it's sucks that the Vic. government rejected it for some piece of crap local studio and other bs.

Australia's Wonderland had some association with "Paramount" but later was sold off, Its sister park I think was "Canada's Wonderland" which is Canadas most visited park, Its funny how that park flourished and well Australias didnt as Canada and Australia have simular population and economic status, maybe more toursits go there

i totally agree with u i live in the gold coast and work at white water world there is already enough competition up here with theme parks and luna park down in sydney is not much of a theme park and if disney build at the gold coast all the other theme parks will lose thier buisness well not lose it but will be down on numbers for a while
