toilet breaks were permitted as was a lunch break, but it was timed, and if you weren't back in your seat at the end of the time, the train departed, and you missed out. I wasn't aware that the contestants had to sleep in the carriages overnight however. THAT would have been uncomfortable. After the motions of the day, I wonder how late they stayed up, being that maintenance would generally awaken them at 6am. it was a good promotion, although the exposure wasn't too high outside of MMM FM.

I do remember this comp. yes it was a Triple m comp run by the three MMM stations being Brisbane Melbourne and Sydney, and their sister stations in Adalaide and Perth I think. cant remember what you had to do to get in but there was 4 people from each city. It kinda went pear shaped on triple m when the riders weren't dropping as fast as they thought they would so they had to come up with other ideas to get them off.things included eatting horrid stuff(I remember one thing was lamb brains, got rid of a few) the rules from the start were they would ride for 50mins of each hour and had a 10 mins toliet/rest break.they had to be back on the train before the 10 mins were up or were out. They all sat in the front of the trains and had to sit in the same sits each time. They got 30 mins for meals and again had to be back on before the 30 mins was up.they weren't allowed any food on the trains(this is what got rid of one brisbane guy, they found a choc bar in his pocket) After 40 days it was decided that the last two guys would not get back in the train in time and as such would both win. I do think that they had someone in their ears over this as over the 40 days pls lost interest in the comp and each said that they could have gone on but didnt want too. Andrew Denton was the main man behind the comp but being from Sydney thats a gimme. Up here in Brisbane it was front page news when it started and when the guy got caught thats all.no interest no good going on with it. I so wanted to enter but was working fulltime then and didn't think that I could get time off for it not knowing howe long it was going to go on for

I dont see why guests couldnt occupy the other seats since the final two would only be in the front car. Did normal guests ever ride with the comp contestants?
There were actually two trains beng run during the day for the comp. One for guests and one for the contestants. I operated during the comp and it was pretty cool.
