i honestly thought a screamin swing with a very well themed queue line would’ve been added to the New Atlantis eventually where the maintenance shed ended up being built, unfortunately there’s not enough room where Vortex sits to add one.

Vortex would be a much better ride if the cycle wasn't lame.

Exactly, the ride itself isn't bad. Just the cycle that it runs is total garbage. Just look at the cycle that Talocan runs. Obviously we can also be sad about the theming that this has, but just the cycle itself is much better.

There definitely would be if Vortex wasn’t there

the ride itself could fit, but you’d have no room for the queue, pathways, theming, nothing. just the hardware itself.

@Levi you’d be surprised with what they could fit in that area of land. I’m sure it would all fit if they wanted, and if it doesn’t, take more land from the lake!

I’m sure @DaptoFunlandGuy would love to overlay Tidal Surge from SeaWorld San Antonio on Vortex’s site for comparison!

Vortex has the water fountain package right? they just don't use it

Where do you think they got the land to build vortex? oh, and the rest of new atlantis? you know that used to be part of the ski lake, right?

Meh. I'm no longer in a role that gives me access to Nearmap and it's expensive to obtain individually. @Tim Dasco may be able to assist.

In the meantime, a quick measurement of the two rides.

Vortex has almost 37m.

While Tidal Surge is just under 30m.

I didn’t include the queue area of Tidal Surge because that can be placed in a different location/orientation at our SW, but gives an idea of scale for the rides footprint (when swinging over water)

Looking at the rides spec, it needs a clearance area of 16m x 35m

So it would fit, but only leaves 2m for a footpath. However you’d want the pathway to run alongside the dolphin lagoons so the ride can swing out over the lake. Which would mean you don’t need the entire 35m envelope (as I’d say at least a third of that would be over water, like SW San Antonio).
