Dreamworld General Improvments 2025

Featured Replies

I would definitely like the screens to be moved in the direction of the seating with something related to Australia on there like a documentary of certain parts featured in the attraction. I however don't think they'd go for it and just assume everyone will just sit on their phones will waiting anyways and see new screens and videos as not worth the investment it'd take.

  • Well I mean as recently as six years ago Dreamworld was a dump, losing shitloads of money and could have easily been sold off and pulled down for housing. Needless to say they’ve come a long way

  • Noticed a couple things at the park today. First of all, the roof looks so much better now that the painting is complete.Β  I also happened to notice that the park have finally replaced a lot o

Looking at Theme Park Ogre’s latest video, it seems that more permanent lighting is being installed in Rivertown.

The new lights have now been installed. It looks like they’ll shine on the river and island.

Also, while in the park today, I was surprised to hear that the old Tiger Island preshow music from the original 1995 version of TI is now playing on a loop inside the Tiger Island toilets. I never thought I’d hear that music in-park again after all these years! Yet another cool way of Dreamworld honouring their past.

The Christmas in July props were being assembled in the old Buzzsaw site during the week.
The guys putting in the lighting in Rivertown had cordoned off the lower deck and were using a small tinny to access the areas where the lighting install was over water.

^Absolutely! Personally, I'd have preferred they put seats along the outer side, facing the screen, but semantics... πŸ™ƒHonestly, this is such a massive welcome for anyone with tired feet and in need of a break, while waiting for the next adventure πŸ‘

Look, I like that they've put seats in there (and agree it should be faced the other way) - and I would have given them extra props if they'd installed current versions of departure lounge seats where every 4-6 seats has a charging station because let's face it - it'd be the most popular place in the park if teens could charge their phones...

But I have to call this out - whenever we see theming being removed elsewhere we bemoan the loss of classic theme in place of efficiency and modernisation - so i'm going to call it out - removing all the baggage is a miss, in my opinion. They could easily have fitted in seating that worked with the space without removing the baggage 'carousel'.

So, are you saying you'd rather stand on the spot for 10 minutes, over taking a break, to sit down a bit & enjoy a calm moment of respite?

Especially when most of a Theme Park day (at least in Australia) is spent on your feet -all while outside in the sultry QLD heat.

The baggage carousel btw was only ever sat on by small children and replaced more times than worth counting. Just saying

I think perhaps you need to go back and re-read what I said.

I like the seats. I agree they should face the screens. they could have fitted seats while retaining the baggage carousel, in my opinion.

I just think the complete removal of theming is something we've called foul on in other attractions on the coast, and it would be hypocritical of us to applaud this move without at least noting that it came at a cost of theme reduction.

Now all DW have to do is get rid of all the suburban style fencing so guests can actually see the river.

the timber fencing is a darn sight better than the pool fencing we have at wild west. I think all our parks locally have shown a move to fencing off water attractions and I don't think we can get away from that - so styling it to suit the theme of the land is possibly the best we can ask for. I don't hate the current rivertown fence - though perhaps they could have missing planks dotted along that still retains 'pool safety' requirements while looking a bit more 'ramshackle'

More great news for Sky Voyager, I believe Niagara Falls is on the way!

Fair call, and you'd think it would be easy enough to have both.. right? Trouble with those suitcase props, the constant climbing and subsequent breaking them, not only did they need frequent fixing/replacing & the unfortunate reality of stupid people ruining the experience for everyone else.

If the main Q area was further upgraded, thematic touches like baggage carousels etc might have to be fenced off (eg Jungle Rush). Either way, addition of seats is a massive welcome to many who need to take a load off tired feet..

Sky Voyager has some of the weakest theming in the park. A handful of random suitcases isn't enough to make it feel like an airport, so removing them doesn't change the experience. The queue could definitely benefit from a complete re-theme, and hopefully that's something DW has on its to do list after the MC re-theme is complete.

I don't really see potential to give it a more airport feel without absorbing the exterior queue into the main building.

^ same! I HATE this thing - it quintessentially represents a certain "Dreamworld chapter" that surely we'd all rather forget. Not to mention, has ZERO thematic cohesion to the world class efforts of King Claw.

Put it in WWW & build a proper, "foot-long Hot Dog" Stand. For those of you old enough, you know I'm not talking about giant Dicks😁

I think it would work a lot better if it was relocated to the FlowRider plaza since there’s not much going on there at the moment. The area desperately needs another drawcard and something to fill the empty space. Where it is right now definitely clashes with King Claw’s theming quite a lot.

I don't think moving a food outlet out of a high traffic area and into a dead zone is the right idea. A food outlet isn't going to pull people into an area that already has 'not much going on'. Especially not for theme park hot dogs when you'd have to walk past Barrels to get there.

I agree thematically it isn't a great fit outside the claw, but that is where it's been for a long time. thematically it doesn't really fit anywhere in a modern dreamworld so i'm really surprised they brought it back. My guess is, they needed extra food capacity to take some load away from Food Central, and it's only temporary.

I was wondering with the hot dog stand being back, I am assuming the Bunyip cutout is still missing? I can see the plaque, but no Bunyip in sight. I do hope it is still around somewhere, as it's always a shame when these things are lost.

The fence should go in the trash..........................

Funny how climbing train with soft fall gets called dangerous, but a fence with trip hazards at the bottom and pointed tops gets a free pass. Maybe the hazard isn’t always the thing kids should be playing on.............🀣

Ocean parade has always been a mish mash of random crap. Nothing cohesive about that area at all apart from "it's blue and water". King claw on one end, repainted ancient Chinese facades on the other, and aeroplanes elsewhere. Not far removed from a time where it had zombies, wipeout, and v8 supercars
