When everyone on your page already knows what times the parks open, I guess the only thing left to post about is condiments...

They can't put air conditioning on the monorail, it won't fit under the roof.

How do you know it wouldn't fit under the roof?

I think it's a reference to the inaccurate claims by some on Parkz, that the designers of the roof failed to take into account the height of the monorail.

Also known as sarcasm :)

The monorail would fit under the Plaza if it did have aircon installed on the roof, the issue is they wouldn't fit in the station for maintence work, and they would need to redo the station for it to fit

Looks like SW now like to repurpose signs and put them somewhere else in the park, so they point a different direction of the ride it's showing

IMG_6336.JPG

That sign would be tacky as hell in that location anyway.  It's a peaceful tropical area of the park, the sign takes away from the area.  However, the fact the sign is pointing away from the ride takes it from tacky to embarrassing.  Can people see why I'm as negative as I am?

Finally! That building is the first building you see as you walk down main st, yet looks the most tired. Maybe they can remove all the Christmas lights from the windows while we're at it! ;)

My 8-year-old was watching H20: Just Add Water on Netflix, and the particular episode featured quite a bit of Sea World - she called me in to show me "how cool Sea World used to be".  This particular scene was showing Bermuda Triangle in operation (just externally at the final drop).

I really think that the decked area in the right of th image should be properly opened up and have some tables/chairs for people to sit and eat, or enjoy the stunt show from. They've basically now closed the whole part off and can only be accessed from the side and it isn't very clear if you haven't visited the park before or if you don't take any notice.

Didn't really seem thread worthy.... From Facebook:

I think they did a good job with list and agree with most of them:

The list is:

12 TOT2

11 Polar Bear Shores

10 Arkham Asylum

9 Tiger Island

8 Mammoth Falls

7 Batman Adventure Ride

6 Bermuda Triangle

5 SDSC

4 Affinity

3 Police Academy Stunt Show

2 Giant Drop

1 Superman Escape

Sounds ok, I wouldn't agree with Affinity so high and certainly not Mammoth Falls before Arkham and ToT, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't really see how you can mix shows, coasters and flats in a list like this, but they seem to have done it ok.

I agree pretty much with that list...  But also agree Affinity seems a little high on the list...

Also...  That moment when your company has removed 3 of the "Top 12 Theme Park Attractions of all Time" and replaced them with poor - semi decent replacements...

I recon it's a good list and pretty accurate. I would say if you just count Affinity as any show at Dolphine Cove then it's sits right.

I would have had Bermuda higher on the list and included Wild West

Sea World basically exists because of having Dolphin Shows.  I don't think Affinity is the best incarnation, but again is see it as 'dolphin shows at Sea World', in which case it totally belongs there.

Mammoth Falls I think is also deserving of its place on the list.  I mean it has a very long ride time, a small height requirement, genuinely fun for all ages, is rerideable, and a has massive capacity.  It was also the first of Wet "n" Wild's big modern slides and really helped the park transition from small local water park, to something quite special.

I think it's a pretty good list really.  All of those attractions are not only the best the Gold Coast has, but they were also what made the Gold Coast what they are.  When you look through the list, (with the exception of PA which was just perfection itself) most of those rides represent some sort of coming of age for the park they're in, and resulted in a boost which propelled the park along.

The only change I would have made would be to combine ToT/GD onto one spot and get Corkscrew on the list.  While nothing special in terms of a coaster it was able to be the signature thrill ride for Sea World pretty much it's whole life.  I'm glad that rides like Green Lantern, Claw and Buzzsaw didn't make the list, because while all fun rides, I don't view them as being anything 'special'.

Anyone heading down to MW this weekend for their Oscars 2017 event?  Was wanting to go but with work and then study it has become a busy weekend...  Would love to see pics of the event and any of the characters they bring out :)

Umm...  Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Charles Chaplin never won an Oscar...  Audrey Hepburn did but not for Breakfast at Tiffany's...  Monroe was never even nominated...

How about Vivien Leigh in Gone With The Wind, Liza Minnelli in Cabaret, Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady, Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump...

Way to strip Chaplin of three Oscars. He actually won two honorary ones and one for music score for Limelight in 1973.
