2014 In Dreamworld - Tail Spin construction, Wipeout refurbishment, Triple Vortex construction

Looking at the images closely I can now see how the seating works. Really like AA or Escape from Madagascar, as someone said earlier. On the planes wings you can see the levers they you pull back and forth to get the plane to tilt/spin.

It doesn't stay upside down though. Once you get it to start flipping you can't get it to stop whilst you're upside down.

Like any other seat.

Step 1: Stand in front of seat.

Step 2: Move backwards while putting your bum downwards.

Step 3: Lower harness once you are safely sat down.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Dreamworld is revamping any other rides?

I heard somewhere that it was the log ride later this year but not 100%

They had initially announced that another ride additional to Wipeout would be re-vamped but that has been put off til next year (or the unknown future)

Slide pieces for Triple Vortex are currently being put in place. So far there is one of the tornado's and a couple of sections of enclosed slide sections.

I think I'll go up on a low traffic day and learn how to ride Tail Spin. I can't see myself wasting time trying to fit a ride in on a packed day, capacity will be an issue.

Something tells me the ride will be popular (at least for a period after opening) considering you can control how intense it is. It isn't like the Giant drop where you can put up with the low capacity because >60% of the people in the park don't even want to ride it.

So the Claw's repaint doesn't count? Cameras on the Giant Drop?

Dreamworld said there would be 2 major refurbishment. Wipeout had a major refurbishment, Claw is just having a fresh coat of paint and the cameras on the GD are just an extra addition.

I was under the impression the Rapid River was getting it after seeing some of the pics on here.

I would say that would just be another improvent. We might see some more changes to the ride next year in its schedule maintenance. I think the next couple of year will be a good year for Dreamworld, with the new attractions opening and the changes being made so far, I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have planned to do.

The first tunnel of Triple Vortex has been installed. From what I can tell this is the way the slide will go. I didn't see where the slide finishes, but I believe it shares the same splash down pool as RIP:

Got some photos of Tailspin being tested on Thursday afternoon. I noticed 3 guys in business attire watching on with clipboards.

how come every time you see a pic of something in www you never see any people around. also whenever i drive past it i never see anyone there either. do people actually even go there?

Generally google tries to remove all people from their sat imagery as far as I know

Agreed. That's why they retired it.
