It’s almost here! Australia’s first LEGO® Certified Store will open at Dreamworld on Queensland’s Gold Coast on Saturday 28 January 2017.

@Richard every time i login to check new activity in the past couple days (on different devices) this article keeps popping up.

I also saw an article on Facebook about the Drinks \ Sauce, but haven't seen it here - not sure if related...

There was some spam removed from this thread over the weekend which might have caused this. I've just tried permanently deleting the posts rather than hiding it like we normally do, so let me know if it happens again in coming days.

Given it’s already been been bumped this thread is probably the best place for these.

Lego store has been gutted and is getting a refurb (credit to DW Golden Years for pics) 

This is interesting, I didn't expect them to renovate a store only after a few years. I expect this open during the holidays so they can include it with the 40th anniversary celebrations.

I have no doubt the work will be quick/complete by December, still interesting.

Well it’s either a refurb or Lego has pulled out of the deal and it’s being repurposed. 

Strange it has been done while people are shopping for gifts.

They've gutted the entire building, but left the lego-brick shaped light fixtures in place.

My money is just a refurb. It's been 5 years - some shopping centres require retail stores to revamp their look at the end of every lease to keep the stores fresh so it could be similar motivation from Lego to freshen things up, or to implement new elements they didn't previously have.

There's been no announcement by the park of an ending to the partnership also... 

From what I have heard its a refurb at the directive of Lego to keep it in line with the Lego store franchise. 

LEGO store is getting an external repaint. And the glass doors that were facing the fountain have been removed

They really need something on that wall between the plants

Agreed, would have been good to continue that pattern down the wall at minimum 

Or a mural of DW created out of Lego or a photo opportunity or something

My guess is the blank wall is 'display space' that will be filled in the future. I would hazard a guess a large lego model would sit there with an appropriate background wall art, but just isn't ready to go in yet.
