The castle is undergoing a repaint. You can really see the difference in the last photo. And the rides information and safety board is gone too.

And all those changes you noticed were because of the event

Yar, which is why I said I didn't notice anything. 😂😃

You have to be incredibly specific for some people!

Nah the only reason to have a function in Scooby's queue is to also have the ride booked. Otherwise as a venue it's just fiberglass castle walls with no toilets. Each to their own and sure some must like it but makes no sense to me.

Although now I'm thinking about it MW doesn't really have a great function room, IDR, Rick's and maybe stars? Scooby queue is starting to make sense

They had DC, Superman and Justice League open for an hour when we arrived. Buffet dinner on main street with unlimited alcohol and the castle queue room was used as after-party with a live band and desert bar. Wouldn't say it was bleak, considering it was a free Xmas party for the guests.

Saying that, having Scooby open all night would have made it even better.

Slightly OT but has Scooby always had individual lap bars as the restraint system? I seem to remember a time where it was the one lap bar for both riders like WWF?

I must be thinking of something else then. Could have sworn it was SDSC!

Road runner is single lap bar.

If that is the actual new disco room, I am beyond excitement

Judging by the way the camera drops through the track (and the steel looks a little undersized for roller coaster track), I'd say that ad is an "artists impression".

They have either cleaned very well or replaced the concrete where the tree was. You can still see the hole for where the garden bed was, so maybe a new tree will be planted (hopefully)

New queue rails have been installed too

And work on the AA facade on the back of SDSC is still going

Something appears to have changed inside, as there was double doors in facade of the SDSC wall. In your earlier photo of the same area, there is now a single door. There also appears to be works in the old alley section from this photo (possibly more back of house storage?)

From a private function inside Scooby last night, was alone setting up PA. Didn't notice any differences at all in the queue area, however the MW rep said they were testing the train's, wouldn't tell me any more.

- Do we know if we have new trains? -Ride testing is a good sign for expected opening Summer holidays (although the ride is very much the same I imagine, just the projection mapping etc that is new)

I wouldn't imagine the trains have changed, given the marketing imagery already shown.

Whilst the ride may operate the same as it has always done, there is always the likelihood that there are PLCs or other triggers to set off certain effects, projections etc that need to be tested. The only real way to test this is to run the trains through and see if the trigger sets off at the correct time for the ride vehicle.

It means they're close, but not as close as you might think - as any timing errors might take a while to rectify.
