Just curious - how long has construction been going on for? I swear it's almost been a year since the first footings appeared.

Construction fencing first appeared back in early July. Permanent fencing materials arrived mid August. Land clearing began soon after this. Mack crates arrived beginning of September, and footing construction began soon after. With them completed early december. Opening date announced mid December. And the permanent fence began construction early January.

You'd think they get pretty scratched up all jammed in there like that. But I guess it just looks that from the end and they probably are well wrapped protected etc.

^As you can see in the first picture, there are blocks of timber wedged in between, there are foam sheeting wrapped around the edges (as you can see bottom right of the container) and everything is then strapped in with rated strapping (see the 5100lbs white straps).

Every contact point would be protected by one of those methods of protection, and everything would be tied down so nothing would move, and therefore, nothing would scratch.

Would be a good 20 or so pieces of track in the carpark now, and a similar number of supports. Crane's lifting more pieces out and more Top Golf bits & pieces also being taken out of enclosed containers and placed on the far perimeter near the metal sheeting and access tunnels.

Could just mean a lot of airtime hills (ie more valleys)

I guess - these newer ones don't have the reinforced spline.

Glubbo is correct, Mackso track has a reinforced spline. We saw a couple of pieces with this arrive earlier. You can see the loop track in the following picture. However this track is not just used for loops but also in high g-force areas.

@Brad2912 thanks for the awesome pics 😆👍How's the diverted entry to the carpark looking? I haven't been out that way for a few days, would be curious to know how close it is to completion now ☺️

Forgot to Take a photo of it but all the framework/rebar etc is in place, looked ready for the cement to be poured (may have held off on doing it due to the sporadic rain today)

I'm interested to see some brakes, yeah, I know possibly the lamest thing to want to see from a roller coaster but I've never seen a brake run separated from a roller coaster and just have an odd itching to see what it looks like. HEHE!

Here's my photo contribution for this week :)

The temporary entryway into the MW carpark has concrete laid, and nearly ready to be used:

The inside the coaster compound now has a road running through it, which I'm sure makes things more convenient for the workers and their heavy vehicles:

Lots of coaster parts have now arrived and are awaiting to be transported and assembled. Got a few pics from different angles just so you can see exactly how many (and possibly help to identify what type they are?) And obviously as we all know there are many, many more on the way lol :)

Inside the station construction area, lots of orange things have now appeared which I'm assuming is related to electrical conduits or something along the lines? @Skeeta, maybe you can shed light on this? I'd love to know :D

Every week we're seeing more and more activity happening. Beats watching grass being mowed. It's awesome :)

Enjoy :D

Removed some double ups. Sorry the pc version is being a pita lol

Thanks for the update @Theme Park Girl, plenty of progress since i checked it out a couple of days ago.

Those orange pipes where the station is, were installed a couple of weeks ago, and are for the electrical systems for the station.

Also good to see they are really protecting those trees by supporting them, unless I'm mistaken and they are the relocated ones. Either way, glad MW are keeping them.

They would want to keep them for replanting in their original location later on. I believe it is against council regulations to plant new cocos palms on the Gold Coast as they are considered an invasive species.
