A teenage boy has fallen ten metres to the ground as he was performing pull-ups on a theme park chairlift.

The 14-year-old was caught on camera doing the dangerous stunt and witnesses said he was “mucking around”.

Emergency services were called to the theme park near Kiama on the NSW south coast just after 1.30pm today.

“He pulled the safety bar up and stood up grabbing the cable,” one person, whose brother was on a chair behind the teen, told 9news.com.au.

“Dangling off the cable, he started to do pull-ups without realising an upcoming pillar.

“My brother caught him hanging off the cable … before he hit the tower rollers and fell.”

The boy suffered a broken knee and is in a stable condition at Wollongong Hospital.

This kid is probably some immature 14 year old who does stupid risky things. Needless to say, I'm not surprised that this has happened - and I'm not impressed either. Wonder why he thought doing pull-ups on a theme park chairlift was a smart idea?
