well, dreamworld couldn't keep the buzzsaw blade spinning either - maybe its something in the water?

The blade only spins when the ride is operating on that day. It doesn’t spin before the park opens and stops almost at five after the last ride finishes

On the topic of spinning pieces of metal being stopped. Anyone remember the days of rapids rides having their station on a turntable in Aus?

I saw it looking like that during maintenance last year, so I'm guessing it's going to reopen.

HWSW maintenance is extended to Jan 20

If Dreamworld are closing HWSW for 6 months there better be a repaint somewhere down the pipeline and a cleanup of the theming, or a new control system is being installed. Surely it doesnt take that long to do some maintenance to a run of the mill Arrow looper.

Purely speculative thinking but maybe with the closure of the Peter Brock garage the naming rights deal with Hot Wheels may be running out and the park has to remove the Hot Wheels branding. It wasn't stated as to how long the naming rights would go for but I'd figure it would be for the same time as the lease for the Brock stuff.

I doubt Brocks Garage and Hot Wheels have anything to do with each other in regards to the contract. Brocks Garage was a car collection, Hot Wheels is an international brand. 

I could imagine the giant drops op box a rats nest so it got a new one. Tower of terror most likely has thousands of meters of wire everywhere, so that’s getting sorted. The HWSW is old and probaly a rats nest, so it’s getting sorted?

Wouldn’t take 6 months to rewire an entire ride, let alone to untangle some wires, that is certainly not the issue. 

Plus remember that none of these three are 'backyard manufactured' in house. All are built by reputable amusement manufacturers with specific guidelines and requirements. Although Arrow isn't around these days i'm fairly certain S&S Sansei would be able to provide any ongoing support required.
