I understand the weather issues, but I just don't understand this as a move. Like - could we do Christmas in March when it isn't so hot?

Could we do Easter in November, since the park season ends a week after Easter this year - so we can get full use out of our rabbit costumes?

#wait - maybe thats the reason for it - do it in the off season, pick up all your supplies from the clearance racks?

Here's our first inside look of AW's first attempt of a scare maze.

A bit of a shame that it seems as if guests will have to walk through the maze with some parts consisting of a sandy flooring (I'm pretty sure some will also consist of paving as the maze will be utilising the old pathway to the castle). Looks like I'll be wearing thongs during my walk through. Other than this it seems pretty cool.

EDIT: You have to wear enclosed shoes to enter the maze.

Tim and I survived the maze, tonight, although we might still be a little bit infected. The car park was only half full, so the word hasn’t really gotten out yet. It was certainly different from past Fright Nights, with effects in different places.

The theme is all about the infected, with team members donning hazmat suits. There was some weird carnival stuff in there too. There were lots of roaming scare actors out until 11pm. The event actually closed at 11.30. Really enjoyed the metal band that came on stage at about 10.30. I don’t think the maze really compares to the ones at MW, but it’s good to see AW branching out and trying something new. I think Tim was just happy to walk the moat.

Three more Fright Nights left for this season.

Still no real bump in the crowd, tonight. The weather was a little warmer. There was less fog surrounding the maze area. The maze apparently opens at 8pm.

There were lots of roaming characters running around the park. Bumped into Ross as well. He said they’re still tweaking things.

Former VP of Park Operations for Hong Kong Disneyland, and current leader of Apex Parks and Entertainment Services, Noble Coker was good enough to give me an hour and half of his busy schedule to discuss all things customer experience on Friday. Noble spent 16 years with Disney, learning from Senior Managers who could still recall Walt Disney walking around the Parks. Noble had some fantastic insights to share that I shall be posting soon on my YouTube channel and from which some nuggets of Disney magic will be incorporated into my new book. Look out for Noble's response to my question, "tell us about your favourite Disney memory" I will post here next week. It was really quite a moving response. Thanks Noble, you are a true industry star and friend.

Last night of Fright Nights probably saw its biggest crowd. It was cool to start with, but eventually the wind died and it warmed up. Got on quite a few rides without too much wait. Went through the maze about 10pm, before catching the band Scalphunter perform on the main stage. Chatted to Andrew and Georgia towards the end. They seemed pretty happy with the turnout.
