Movieworld didn't need Doomsday and the villains unleashed precinct. Instead they should have used that money to completely overhaul the Kids WB land, and add a much needed major family attraction to that area.

The whole villains unleashed area was a bizarre investment IMO.  It is completely separate from all other DC attractions. The area was designed for kids/tweens, but then the anchor ride is too intimidating for most kids and has a 140cm height requirement (thus restricting many kids from riding). And on top of that, let's make the area's interactive games an up-charge experience to piss everyone off 😂

The villains unleashed area is fantastically themed, the best cohesive themed area they’ve put together and caters for a wide demographic. Yes DD is too intense to be considered a family ride but the area as a whole is well executed, popular and fun for all. 

It wasn’t long after opening that the payment to activate the interactive elements was removed. It’s been free for well over a year.

I definitely think the park needed a ride like DD and having the villains area just adds to the ride as a whole. That area of the park had no use and the park was lacking a flat ride. It lacked that ‘filling’ attraction. And the villains area as a whole, is great and adds to the whole ride experience and theming. Yes the park definitely needs to invest in an overhaul of the kids area, but DD was a definite must

This is actually a really good suggestion. Main street would look great with a set of tracks running down, similar to Main St USA. Easy turning circles around the fountain, and at the top, either a circle around the 'green', or otherwise take it all the way up to intencity and circle the game outlet up there.

Great kinetic energy for the park, a different way for people to get from one end to the other...

Of course, in our modern safety conscious society, they'd probably need a person to walk in front of it to clear people out of the way, and we'd no doubt get idiots tripping on the tracks and trying to sue...

Also not helped by how it presents to the pathway.  Easy for many to pass it by without even realizing it's something to see.

By any observable metric, Doomsday and surrounds was wasted capital. It was a very well executed concept that was... doomed... from the start because it was all wrong. It was meant to draw guests away from the front of the park but the attraction they chose was simply not strong enough to be able to do that. Then throw in the interactive elements that are aimed at a totally different audience from the ride. What we have is a ~$10 million spend on something that looks nice but doesn't achieve what they wanted it to. You only need to look at how quiet this area is even at peak times to see that this is the case.

A solid VRTP critique for the attention of @CaptainLazerGuns

100% agree. The Doomsday Destroyer attraction sign is fantastic. It's probably the best attraction entrance sign in aus. But they decided to hide it and face it towards the showstage? It should have been facing the main pathway, and the little shop moved to the back of the area.

I would say so @AlexB and they probably wanted the store and it’s theming to be the front focus for the area and then for guests to become immersed into the precinct before entering the rides queue. I agree that this attraction definitely has one of the best themed entrances of any other ride on the GC. Arkham or Storm would probably be second. I don’t like it when they decide to close off those main entry gates and it ‘forces’ you to walk through the store. This gates should both always be left open.

Yeah but the wonderland plaza was huge, and didn't impede flow - there were large pathways that went straight through, with merch on either side. The doomsday shop is tiny, with sharp turn angles through the store, and many places only one person could fit through at a time (especially with a stroller). It just becomes an annoyance.

...Yeah, but since its past the shop, and isn't obviously an access point until you have walked past it, most people wanting to get to doomsday will be forced through the shop when the 'park gates' are shut. It was stupid all around, and the only thing that makes sense is to open the gates - which then starves the shop of visitation.

the classic 'exit through the gift shop' was done so well at Green Lantern and Wild West Falls (although it failed at Superman for obvious reasons) the smartest thing would have been to simply exit the ride through the shop. period.
