Also interesting to note is the seat numbers are larger on the joker train for whatever reason.

Regarding the seat numbers, do you mean the "1.1, 1.2, 1.3... -> 5.4, 6.1, 6.2"? Or something else?

Each seat is probably tagged with it's own ID. No double ups, hence the higher numbers on one train vs the other.

I mean the sticker themselves, not the numbers. Each train has 1.1, 1.2, etc. where 1.2 is car one, seat two. I'm pretty sure the control panel communicates with the train through the contact pads in the station, so the same seat is on the same contact for both trains. The operator can only release individual seats from the panel when it's in the station.

Talking to staff on dc rivals tonight while ride has been stopped cause of lighting and thunder, second train will return to track and two trains will be running within next 7 days but backward seats will be down for awhile. They are waiting on parts from Germany also row 4 seats are playing up as well.

WWF was testing on Friday - with both old and new boats. In the below pic you can them both: the old one in front with the new one in the back. Couldn't stay long, so excuse the bad photo!

does anyone know why they would be testing both new and old boats instead of just the new ones?

Im guessing they haven’t received all the new boats yet, so it won’t have a reduced capacity for holidays.

Do I see more water features to get us wet?

That was from the water mill on the side of the shop. It definitely look much wetter than usual! Would be a great feature if they keep it running like that.

I'm guessing the older boats are "placeholders" until the other new boats arrive/are ready.

Bingo, won’t operate with the old boats again.

Don't be too happy tho, not all seats are operational on the second train either. All backwards seats are out of action at the moment too.

Was back on December 11th, with seats out of order then too. Waiting on parts.

Not too sure atm, but there are seats out here and there. The staff doing sorting (from what I saw yesterday) had to hold a clipboard saying which train was what, with which seats were open and which ones weren't. All I do know is the amount of seats that are out of action (not including backwards seats) are not enough to equate to one full train. I'd say around half a train or less.

At least the second train is back in action

if one of the compressed air tanks exploded, I'm guessing they’d need to wait for new parts from S&S and considering how long Doomsday was closed when that needed parts, it would be closed for a while.

I was there tonight, actually I was on the ride waiting for the next cycle but they removed us. This was at 5:30pm.

It didn't open again for the night but did look to be testing and running during the evening.

Possible we see GL go down for a couple of days. One of the compressed air tanks exploded tonight.

Wait what??? Wow 😯 did anyone get it on film ?!

There's pretty well no way a cylinder would have exploded. They are rated to many times above what the actual running pressure is and are fitted with pressure relief valves as a backup measure. Certainly could have had a fitting or air line burst or snap though and have air gushing out.
