March 2021 weather and flooding closes Gold Coast theme parks

Featured Replies

Was there an hour ago. Exit just past the park entrance and bus bays is flooded. Cars were underwater. Drivers were driving the wrong way at the front of the park entrance to avoid the flooded roads.

Sheesh. I went on Saturday and it didn't rain till about 1.

That one very flooded movieworld, hopefully that were able to keep water out of the justice league ride building as all other rides are above ground. The park could be closed for a Day or two for clean up once the storms finally clear up and water recedes.

Don't think so. The nearmap 'flood' layer is helpful, although not terribly precise, but you can see the water extends south past WNW for a long time before the park itself is affected. There is a large height difference between the Justice League ride floor and the creek at peak - even last year when Green Lantern's footings were inundated, JL itself stayed dry.
