We went yesterday with $30 and this was all we had in our account... drink reactivation, wrist band and VR for Arkham for wife... We never spend more than $60 and that's on days where we buy lunch there... Get off your high horse and I'm sure @Theme Park Girl, her kids, me, my wife, my son, @JaggedJanine and anyone else who has already bought one and has used it will agree that $15 is well worth the fun and enjoyment of the area... I was using it mostly to either amuse the kids in the area or annoy the parents and prudes who didn't want to get affected by the attraction... Lots of people getting laughs at it once they realised I was doing so...5 points

Wouldn't it be cool if they made interactive statues and games all over the park?2 points

Question, but in the past didn't you say you would have preferred increased annual pass prices? So if you buy a wristband with the money on what you would have spent on a more expensive pass, you'll still be on top.2 points
-
Oh because a $15 one off payment for use of interactive elements is so cost prohibitive to all of us crazy poor people having 365 day a year access to 4 theme Parks for $10 a month... Oh the travesty. And you have to pay for food too!!!2 points

Fright nights stuff going up in park. Yes, i am aware that zombie alley has been up for a while but no one has posted photos that i know of.2 points

Yeah, and interestingly enough, when the local media did attempt to cover the upcoming launch night and give the park some publicity, it was all focused around a celebrity rumour which turned out to be false1 point

Since so much time at theme parks is spent queuing, it would be wonderful if each ride had a few of these interactive characters / scenarios in its queue line (with the characters being relevant to the ride they're at). If done well, queuing could be cool!1 point

I bought my Harley Quinn (favourite villain) wristband today and to say the least, being able to activate and play with all the special effects was a lot of fun! My personal favourites are Killer Croc and Captain Cold! Though you do look like a bit of a maniac throwing your arms up in the air and kicking, it's worth it!1 point

I wish they would bring back the castle themed entry rather that just sticking that sign up.1 point

I think it would be hilarious if the announcement went something like this.. Movieworld: "We are proud to announce our newest addition to the park, a Worlds Best Family Coaster!" Parkz Members:1 point

Thanks for all of the comments guys. The Park is only 98% finished, we are still tidying up a few last strings. One of those (which we didn't see immediately as a priority) is a sign at the site of Bounty's Revenge boat commemorating her service and a bit about her history. It will realistically be a few weeks away. We also had the CEO and family from DW here on Saturday and while I cannot go into specifics, he was very complimentary. Both Inferno and Water Mountain will be added to over the next 12 months. We had the option to paint the Inferno ride itself but once we had it erected and working fine, we didn't want to risk taking her down again and so will likely paint and finish off the decking next winter (assuming she is reliable all this season). I rode her on Friday and she's feeling fast, smooth and back to her best I'd say. Mark.1 point

^I had some network issues at work on thursday, and my workstation has been left on over the weekend waiting for the IT guys to restore it. Seems this went through once the network was restored - but i can't seem to edit it now. Oh well. The problem with it being free is that people who would like to take a turn will most likely be unable to do so as others will continue to just 'hog' the terminal. I'm sure you won't see only rich tourists there. Since an annual pass now costs less than most people's monthly phone \ internet plans, i'm sure many people will see the worth in purchasing a wristband - especially if the park allows them to work on repeated visits. You should be happy - the precinct is sort of a walkthrough area. No monorail though. I guess this means you'll still have something to snark about on their social media posts.1 point

So no arkham asylum for fast track? Probably best to jump on that as soon as it opens then hey?1 point
-
yes my bet as far as all the effects still not working well is that the park decided to open with what they had so as to ensure adequate capacity during school holidays. I'm fairly certain we'll see it go down again for a little while once the holidays are over to complete the refurb with all effects up to scratch, and potentially some additional ones they haven't put in yet due to time crunch.1 point

MW's unlimited fast track is great value, you'll get on within 5 minutes of arriving for all rides, if not straight on (Doomsday, GL, and JL were basically putting the fast-track-ers straight on when I used it on Saturday). Dreamworld's is quite overpriced, and generally it's queues are shorter than MW's overall so you could maybe do without - just make sure you get Buzzsaw and ToT done early because they generally attract longer queues.1 point

/sigh An attraction that some people will love, others will find interesting, and some will not...1 point

You already have to pay $5 to use it and from watching it yesterday only 4 people on one, 6 on the next... But then they stopped doing it because it was raining...1 point

Rio Bravo was actually a really good western movie featuring John Wayne. Also you used to be able to hear the widely quoted paraphrase dialogue from the 1948 film the treasure of the Sierra Madre, "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" inside at the top of the mountain at the turntable, before going down backwards outside. Could also hear the theme from How the West was Won as you drift through the ghost town. Are various western movie themes still played at these two particular locations of the ride?1 point

Probably just teething issues at the moment; give operations a month or two to get it working smoothly. Thanks for the operations insight @JaggedJanine. "6-8 dispatches' every 30 mins" = 16 dispatches/hr, that's 16*20 people = 320 pph....that's very low capacity for peak periods. I wonder if MW would ever consider getting a 2nd train for Arkham? By the sound of it, the ride has once again become a popular attraction, and even more so now with the addition of VR.1 point

Had a little chittychat with a few 'Inmates' today on Arkham. I said that the VR didn't seem to be affecting load times at all and they said they were trailing a few different procedures to find something that meant they didn't drop in dispatch times. Which is usually 6-8 every 30mins. Apparently one of the guys working there today came up with an easier procedure that seemed to be working really well. I did VR for the first time today and tbh.. thought it was running just slightly faster than it did without the added VR. So all of you that have complained about load times can now chill.1 point

Perfect, thank you for that. I missed that video originally -- I was thinking it was just a repeat of the opening/launch show (which I had seen through Movie World's Facebook Live), but you gave a great tour of the whole area. I noticed there was smoke rising from a grate next to Destroyer... was this just for the launch night only or does it run during the day? It's a nice effect as it gives the area that New Yorkey feel.1 point

Whilst they are now more modern, unfortunately the update to the toilets hasn't changed the fact that some people are slobs. Went in there a couple of days ago and there was water and toilet paper all over the floor. Such a shame ??1 point

I'll just leave this here for anyone who missed it last night... ? ETA: me tooooo ?1 point

They know a lot more than you'd think and a lot more than they'd reveal. Wouldn't you enjoy making up some story and seeing how far someone would spread it?1 point

Second part of the tour was definitely not as fantastic as the first, but while it didn't fully appeal to me if definitely did appeal to some of the others in the group.1 point

It'll take multiple rides to spot all the easter eggs...There's literally about 20 or so warning notices on the last lift hill, for example one with an order "that all whiskey consumed must be purchased from Rio Bravo outfitters" for example.1 point

Did the VR again today, this time made sure the headset was tight. Maybe a bit too tight even, as it left slight imprints under my eyes after I took it off ? But I didn't want to experience any issues with it this time round. Definitely a mind blowing experience ?1 point

They wouldn't know a lot cause otherwise 1 of them would tell a friend who would tell a friend and so on and so on and then we would all know what's going on-1 points

I went back again yesterday and unfortunately you can no longer use any of the supervilian attractions unless you BUY a wristband! Oh well. It was good while it lasted! Hopefully once it's all paid for they'll make it free, as they did with the high ropes course at sea world. In the meantime, it's just somewhere you can watch rich tourists having fun.-5 points
