The good old tomorrow's harvest ride I was searching in google for Big Pineapple related things and this thread popped up. I rode this a couple of times in the mid 90s.2 points

So? I provided an image already that demonstrates how a 3 storey building of that size would fit within the confines of the current carpark... Hell if you curve it even further to represent that like the other sites, it would be narrower. Ignore Alexandria. Ignore Las Vegas. They're a good indication of design and layout but this doesn't have to be identical. it doesn't have to be as long or as wide or as high as the others. Its their first venture in Australia. They aren't going to build the biggest behemoth ever until they test the waters. I don't see them getting the patronage that foreign versions will get. At the MW property, It's an add-on. A convenient way to offer another experience on property, rather than a destination. I'm satisfied this will be - for want of a better term - 'top golf lite' while they work out how the Australian market will take to the concept - before they 'go big' by creating a destination site.2 points

I know this all too well @AlexB (It's frustrating me too) but be honest, it is a lot of reading sometimes - I just don't have the time. I do look back at some previous pages of topics to check it hasn't been posted already. I also do use the search engine when I need it. And I'm not the type to point out how right I was (sorry, it looked that way). I will say though I might be a bit too confident regarding predictions as I've accurately predicted a lot of global events lately. @YLFATEEKS, I'm well aware of all those sources you posted. I also forgot about those fence poles. I think we all assumed they were for TopGolf originally so when the rollercoaster began construction, I forgot about them. If a photo was posted with the fence completed, I'd probably have remembered it better. I'll say MW kept the current overflow car park undeveloped just in case for future plans - it would be a waste of money to seal it only to remove it a few years later particularly for something that is only used during peak periods. It will probably remain undeveloped until the future plans come to fruition. The new car park looks designed as a replacement for the existing overflow car park and looks pretty permanent given firstly, it's not part of the main VRTP property and secondly, would be used more often (due to the future plans) than the current one.1 point

JL does not exit from the same spot as BATR. Perhaps you could use the plethora of maps that has been uploaded recently from Nearmap (the Magician did a great Zip file a few days ago) that actually has all the updates, so you could work from that. Looking at the latest images, there is merit in the idea. The entrance was always going to have to come between GL and JL3D, so I think we all figured that driveway was going to be deleted, since the studio entrance does actually run in next to AOS... We haven't seen much in the way of works over in that area, and i'd almost overlooked it, but your post prompted me to look closer, and I found that there is now temporary fencing blocking that roadway. Chances are the stationhouse will be situated in that area, but I don't think we're seeing a showbuilding, and my thinking is more something like GL's station.1 point

I personally hope that they do NOT theme the hotel to anything outlandish. My thoughts (especially since we're supposed to be "Hollywood on the Gold Coast") would be the Art-Deco style theme you see at Hong Kong Disneyland's Hollywood Hotel. see if this link works to check it out! edit: I think though that we will probably see something very similar to the design of Sea World Resort - rooms are clean, functional, with a subdued and understated colour scheme, but nothing more than that and a picture of a relevant topic on the wall... and i'm totally ok with that if it keeps the cost down and is a convenient place to stay on the coast for visiting the parks.1 point

Thanks for the update TPG! Roof? Or structure? Roof previously was a blue and white alternating checker. Frame was always a deep blue. This is what the frame looked like back on 22 September - how does it look compared to what you saw today?1 point

I hope the hotel is well themed, maybe something like Splash Landings hotel at Alton Towers.1 point

@Jamberoo Fan - at the risk of causing conflict, which I really don't want to do... clearly - as you can see - some of the others commenting have known about some of these things a lot longer than you have, and are clearly much more knowledgeable about them. Maybe consider that before you need to 'stand corrected' again. It's really getting frustrating for you to make a prediction, only to be immediately shot down by someone that has actually read the threads and knows that what you're saying is incorrect. Also - every time one of your 'scatter gun' predictions comes true, you don't need to quote it and point out how right you were. We know - because we've actually read the threads. I do want to say though that you're putting a lot of thought, research, time and effort into your posts, and the well thought out concepts are a really enjoyable read. If only you took the time to read past posts first, I reckon you'd be bang on the money every time.1 point

I am going to say its quality V quantity. MW has amazing quality attractions and DW have more cheaper attractions. So in the eyes of the GP DW would seem better as it has a lot more to do. But it really depends on how MW market the park once all these additions are done and if they offer a pass that allows you to do all theme parks, Top Golf and the Lakeside precinct. Or when you stay in the hotel you get the same pass and maybe early entry.1 point

^THIS. This is what many parks (not just on the gold coast) need to follow more often. Take @Mark Shaw's work here with Kraken... constant updates, teasers, and a promise that we'd be 'the first to know' (except of course viewers of ACA but you can't have everything). The only thing i'd like to see more of from MW with regard to the current construction is more 'official' teasers - even if they're not ready, they could be 'formally' building the hype using social media etc. If Parkz has got so many replies to this thread in such little time - imagine what they'd be getting on Facebook if they were posting a few 'official' tidbits - lacking substance but providing just enough to stimulate discussion. Remember @Tim Dasco, 'worlds best theme park draw card' isn't a term they've used. What they have said is that the attraction will be 'worlds best' of it's type. As has been bandied around - it could be 'worlds best' dragon wagon and still fit that criteria. Also - I think you should book in for an exorcism - you're starting to sound a bit like Push. I think a dark section would be cool, but TBH, if the coaster is anything like what we know, or have been led to believe (depending on who you are) - I don't believe it will need it, and i'm sure - just given the footprint we have seen so far - that it will not disappoint. @Gazza1 point

Given the amount of people on here who do actually know and haven't said anything to settle people down suggests we should be right in hyping it up. Think back to Doomsday. If my memory serves me correctly, someone said something along the lines of we'd like the ride but wouldn't be blown away by what's coming. This time we haven't heard anything like that from people in the know and instead we've been dropped teasers by those people plus the park themselves. This should be big.1 point

May wanna lose the whiny "why has no one answered my silly question so I'm gonna re-post it again just to annoy everyone" act. Working hours depend on many things including but not limited to, council approvals/restrictions as part of the DA, the operating structure of the company in charge of the build, individual contractor contracts, needs of the business (MW), construction timelines, weather... My guess would be that you'd probably see something happening on a Saturday but unlikely a Sunday, but that's a guess, and is no more accurate than a guess you could have made yourself..1 point

Hahaha Why is everyone hating on @Smeg. We all know deep down that we want the latest pics and info regarding the coaster, and the person that trys to keep the thread and discussion going gets abused. I dont get it lol-1 points
