  1. Today's update. Plenty to supports installed, and some on the road ready to be installed. Along with the covers on the support outside the fence have been taken off.

  2. When everyone on your page already knows what times the parks open, I guess the only thing left to post about is condiments...

  3. Supports going up in first drop/return section. More #9 supports have arrived. (Only mention this because they appear to be the lift hill supports) Another angle on the mess of supports Oops... and to finish it off (and because I like panoramas) here is one from underneath-ish the Stengel Dive

  6. Show your SUPPORT guys. They are everywhere. Definitely and loop or non inverting loop going in just before current installed track. Sorry for phone low light poor pics.

  7. On my way home at around 4. I saw the gondola on the western side go up the Giant Drop, stay up there for its usual time, and the drop. I couldn't see if people were riding it, but maybe it has reopened. Can anyone confirm it's reopening?

  8. What's the best rollercoaster that you've either been on, or at least know of? Can be anywhere in the world, and obviously "best" is a very subjective term, so everyone's entitled to their opinion! For me it's The Big One (sponsored by Pepsi at the time this video was made) at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England. What gives it the WOW factor is that it's so big that there wasn't room in the theme park for it, but as you'll see in this video, that certainly didn't stop them! I also like that there are no loops or excessive twists or inversions. It's just a nice ride with pretty impressive views out to sea and over Blackpool, but certainly high and fast, so still plenty of thrills. It's not new anymore, so there may well be better rollercoasters in the world, but this is my favourite. What's yours?

  9. Up to the engineers normally, the main thing we look for before we call them in is, 1) is the steel threaded rod exposed and 2) is the steel mesh exposed. If yes then we call the engineers in for a solution, which can be as simple as patching, right up to a new footing. Hard to say what they will do on this with so much steel work exposed.

  10. @Aw hype the one flaw with that plan is DW read these forums and now know your plan

  11. Someone has DW on FB: What's the go with the log ride guys? I understand you're doing lengthy safety audits on the rides, but the log ride is one of your major attractions for families. I'd suggest to get it back up and running. Also your mountain mine train ride has been closed for a very long time. Due to the closure of the rapids ride, when is a revamp due to begin? DW replied: The Log Ride will be back. We don't have a date to put out there yet as it is part of the overall major plan which includes everyone of your questions. Information and dates will be released as soon as we can. Watch this space.

  12. I saw the area from the Buzzsaw today, it doesn't look like any demolition has begun on the ride as of now

  13. That's good to hear. Maybe they've begun clearing the TRRR

  14. Which makes it strange to me that they appear to be abandoning the '2-park' strategy. One of the key reasons WWW was created was exactly as you suggest -- to compete with VRTP's multiple park offering. By developing a waterpark area with its own brand, DW could market its tickets as 2-park passes. I agree that WWW never realised its full potential and this is a real shame. Waterslide attractions are much cheaper capex-wise than theme park rides. With the troubles DW is having, I would have thought a renewed focus on their waterpark would make even more sense.

  15. The only reason I know of the Phantom is because he was always the crappy free comic that came with a lot of showbags at the Ekka

  16. No one under 18 unless an avid comic book reader would even know The Phantom. Billy Zane has a lot to answer for...

  17. I actually really like the idea of a Phantom Coaster, sighting that the 'name' of the ride is very marketable and people would be able to identify -and accept- easily with such a title. Surely a 'Phantom' Coaster would have to feature Skull Rock Cave? I think that would be a fun and exciting queue/station lead up to the ride.

  18. Does someone else feel like writing a description. I think the only thing I know about the background of the park is that it's called Kings Island because its supposed to be like Coney Island...Except it's in Kings Mills / was owned by the Kings Family Entertainment Company...Hence the name. Beast reviewed anyhow....

  19. I reckon something like Roar-O-Saurus would be excellent fit for a small woody. It's an excellent beginner coaster and apparently has some pretty wicked airtime as well, so it would satisfy us coaster enthusiast.

  22. Ride Scenic Railway at Luna Park Melbourne then complain about Hot Wheels. I am sure @Noxegon and others will back me up in saying Hot Wheels is smooth in comparison.

  23. @Slick I have never had the opinion that WWW and DW should merge, I'm clearly not in the majority. @Skeeta you are right in saying that 2 new attractions in 4 years is not enough although over at Dreamworld, Motocoaster, buzzsaw, pandemonium, shockwave, tailspin, motor sports experience and rethemes of nickelodeon land and cyclone have taken place I'm sure a lot more has happened at DreamWorld as well. Some of these rethemes and new attractions have been successes although many would say some have not. Surely all of this money spent at DreamWorld on these new attractions could've been spent making more slides at WWW and/or a lazy river? If WWW was given more respect, and Ardent realised it needed more attractions, I probably wouldn't have even started up this topic, offering my opinion that even now as a very small park that it needs it own identity.

  24. Can't be a Blade Runner themed ride - this thing's been rumoured on here to have a fairly simple station and queue. A Blade Runner themed ride without an awesome station, queue and pre-ride would be a travesty. A very basic description - imagine a future like the one in the Fifth Element, but grittier, darker and desaturated in general colour. Flying Cars, high rises, pollution, constantly raining... Here's a decent fan made trailer of the original. Blade Runner would be a great ride theme, but it'd need a lot more themeing than it's looking like we're getting. Where the hyper's going in it's almost impossible for it to be themed anything other than DC. As we've been discussing for months...
