My favourite part is that you can so clearly see what words she is saying after it. It just makes it so much better3 points

Interesting if WHSQ are holding this back given this same type of ride has operated safely, for years, all over the world in countries where Insurance premiums are a hell of a lot higher than here. If this is the main reason why, really they are being ridiculous. The TRR accident happened because of years of neglect, ignorance and arrogant decisions made on DW's part to do things DW's way. Comparing that situation to the SV delay is ridiculous and WHSQ need to sign it off and get the fucking thing open already.3 points

Maybe this is where the new rollercoaster could be going? Seems the most logical.3 points

I haven't been hit but was operating a ride when it happened. I was operating Psyclone (pretty much the same as The Claw) at Canada's Wonderland, when a teenage girl got hit by a seagull. I saw something go flying and nearly hit the e-stop. My supervisors were in the booth me and went to investigate, and came back with a box with the dead seagull in it. The girl was in tears but okay. The seagull landed in the garden next to the merry-go-round. "The Bus is now leaving for Seagull Point, NSW"2 points

Good riddance. Big Brother finished when Gretel left the series years ago. Maybe those stupid kids did everyone a favour by burning a derelict snake infested shithole to the ground? Surely nothing like what happened to Magic Mountain Gold Coast back in the early 90's?1 point

If DW had left you out to dry after you'd been giving them a sweet ride for years would you be in a hurry to play ball with them on their next ride?1 point

If before it's demolished they were to produce a special version of Big Brother in what remains of the house, I'd probably actually find it interesting enough to watch an episode!1 point

I was hit by a fly when riding the sea viper at sea world, and that bloody hurt, so a bird would be a like a brick to the face.1 point

Or... DW have built it on the cheap and cut corners to save $$$ resulting in a structurally or operationally inferior product to the other models around the world. They thought they’d get away with it, but have been called out on it and are struggling to fix it. If rumours about the issue being with the physical building as opposed to the actual ride mechanic itself - potentially ride clearance issues, emergency exits, fire safety etc, these may be things that can’t simply be resolved, or may not be able to be without removal of the ride system or redesign of the space...1 point

Apparently the name has changed due to confusion with Fantastic Beasts, interesting if true. Not long till we know for sure! https://themeparkuniversity.com/universal/universals-new-orlando-theme-park-to-be-named-universals-epic-universe/1 point

To be fair to DW they have made an improvement in rides being open for the last few months. (Except for SV. That ride has the devil in it)1 point

^Yeah, look.... "citation needed" - but there's a reason Disney always exits you through a gift shop, and that's also the reason why many of our parks have shops at exits. Its a proven formula. Low attendance and low revenues put pressure on department heads to cut costs, and saving on staffing by having less shops open is a no-brainer - but that doesn't mean those shops don't make money when they're open. As for superman, it was always a stupid idea to exit through a gift shop when you don't permit loose articles... unless you come back through the locker room first. stupid design decried from day one.1 point

This is a interesting statement. He may be travelling with family or not be a thrill seeker? Maybe he'd rather ride Buzzsaw, TOT2 (if it's open), HWSW rather than DC Rivals, Superman, GL and Arkham.1 point

It doesn't matters what day you go at the moment. What's wrong with going to MW and riding a real coaster?1 point

It's hit and miss, and really hard to predict. The coast is packed for the race, and obviously transport around downtown surfers gets a little iffy because of it. Coomera should be quiet and provided you're not staying near the track, you shouldn't have much problem - as for attendance, the race format has two 300km races (there was some talk last year of making it a single 500km race on sunday but it wasn't a popular idea) so the race fans are probably going to watch both days if they aren't local. For my money i'd suggest it'd be a pretty normal October weekend attendance - you won't notice much up or down on regular numbers - you might lose a few petrolhead locals, but you also might get the 'rest of the family not interested in motorsport' going to a park to replace them... If you're concerned about the crowds, and you don't get to visit often, but want to make sure you ride everything - budget for a RideExpress pass, but don't pre-book it. If you get to the park and its busier than you thought, go and get the Ride Express pass.1 point

On the plus side, it's good to see Victorian parks continue to prove to Sydney and Gold Coast that continued investment of waterslides is viable. On the negative, looks like a waterslide fucked a parrot. I sure hope these guys have figured out what the colours are going to look like in 10 years when its all faded and dirty. At least single-colour slides are easy to re-paint. That one is going to be a nightmare. Not sure what they think a 'tsunami' is, other than 'generic word for cool waterslide' - because this doesn't resemble it.1 point
