  1. The thing with the pre show, is if they are loading properly and running the attraction to its full capacity, i’d Prefer to sit through the pre show than to be standing outside in the bullpen with nothing to do. Could it be better? Absolutely it could be, but I think DW need to be given a patt on the back for attempting to do a fully inclusive experience with a pre show experience, as let’s face it, none of the parks have included a pre show on any of their new attractions in recent years.

  2. Pre-shows for the sake of pre-shows are awful. I don't know why anyone would think what they've done on SV is good. It doesn't set up a scene or a story. It's just stuff on a screen. How about this, instead of queuing outside in switchbacks, you queue inside in a climate controlled room and watch content that's vaugely distracting and leave the switchbacks as an overflow option. The front of the queue could just be at the bottom of the stairs. There, I've just fixed 70% of what's wrong with SV's preshow set up in one go.

  5. Excellent pickup and great to see this park adding to their lineup year on year. Cant help but feel a little sad at the demise of the Burnout ( The Old Dreamworld Stingray) . We rode this as a family in January of this year and the ride certainly looked well maintained and in good condition. It certainly did not have the look of a ride destined for the scrap heap! Shame to see a Dreamworld original disappear from the Aussie theme park landscape. The new ride Dragon's Revenge looks very similar to the The Wasp at Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast. This is a medium thrill family attraction and should be an excellent addition to the parks offerings. Great to see Funfields continue with their expansion plans. With the gauntlet being thrown down by Gumbaya World and new attractions at Adventure World being announced, the mini Victorian park arms race is certainly heating up!!

  6. From a general public point of view, great to see Funfields moving more towards themed lands and these additions will help attract more families to the park and encourage more season pass sales. From my personal park attendee point of view, i’m disappointed because I thought this would be the season that Funfields would build their new slide to go next to the Gravity Wave or build some other teen/adult attraction. Oh well, hopefully the 20/21 season brings more goodies. Also here’s the new park map for the season. Looks like the little kids go karts and Burnout (former Dreamworld Stingray) are going, making way for the new spinning swing ride. There is a new fantasy garden with talking tree, and kids party castle, the kids zone as a whole is also being re-themed to match. The existing kids splash wet playground area is also getting re-themed to a jungle theme.

  7. The problem with a well themed superman queue is that train stations aren't pleasant places to be, so you can have the best themeing in the world, it'll still feel like you're somewhere you don't want to be. "Let's make the Superman queue more realistic, let's add the deep urine smell that train stations have!' Buzzsaw's original queue was car parts in an old hot crampt shed. Actually juat thinking about it, the queues at DW are all pretty ordinary. Rocky Hollow's queue has a bit of charm to it is really all that can be said. The best queue in DW is probably Pandamonium, based purely off the fact that despite having little to no themeing, it does provide good views of the ride you're about to go on and it's not as slow as something like tailspin. With MW I think most of the rides except Superman have decent enough queues. Even Green Lantern, as phoned in and in the sun as it is has the good views of the ride thing that Pandamonium has.

  9. Will be at the park on 27 September, two days before the season starts, as part of the physics day (https://www.stawa.net/student-activities/physics-day/). If anybody wants a report on on anything in the park or has any information about the physics day (I'm curious) just reply to this comment and I will do my best to investigate anything people want to be investigated. Excited to ride Abyss with what will be presumably newer wheels and not have to wait in line for the Kraken for half my afternoon

  10. I think there is confusion as to what a true preshow is. A preshow is when you get locked in a room, and a video plays or you watch an animatronic or a live actor. Eg like at the start of LTRR or Batman. A preshow is not really when you just shuffle past a video on loop.

  11. Especially at Movie World. Pre shows help to make you feel like you're in a movie related experience. But yes, it applies to elsewhere too.

  12. True but not true but true again. A pre-show has ongoing cost if it requires staff to participate in it. People sitting in a room watching a 10 mins of Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t have ongoing cost. Pre-shows aren't required to be at Disney standard to be a pre-show.

  13. Looney Tunes River Ride and Batman Adventure The Ride all has preshows for their entire life too. Even Wild West Falls had a preshow at one point. Definitely a shame more rides don’t have preshows on the coast because they definitely add to the experience when done well

  14. I got to experience Sky Voyager for myself yesterday. This is truly a ground breaking attraction and one that our Aussie Theme Parks should be very proud, if not least envious of! SV is 100% the Industry game-changer that DW needs right now and possibly the sleeper hit for Gold Coast Theme Parks this Summer and beyond. Please take my advice when I say It is best experienced from Gondola 2 (middle) on the ground floor. Enjoy!

  15. If they made it a 10 slide tower they could change the name to ‘Hang 10’
