It's not a strange colour scheme at all.
Pink and Purple are a classic combination, not a clashing colour. Just google pink and purple and see all the images that come up just on that criteria alone.
The combination does work. it won't fade as badly as the previous one did.
If the logo is the issue, i'm sure they can get some more salmon paint to fix that up.
This whole debate is really the discount store equivalent of Disney enthusiasts who don't want Disney to change things in their parks.
We've all complained of how tired and washed out and faded the slides are. Its a fact of life in Queensland. They've learned that those colours aren't workable, and changed it to something else. Hell, since HydroCoaster, and Triple Vortex both use red, maybe they sought to differentiate it a bit more.
It doesn't change the ride experience. It looks better than this:
