  1. DW: Guys, we might actually have to put some proper money down for this new ride Mack: Hey, we have a half price coaster someone else pulled out of DW: Eveything is coming up Milhouse!
  2. I was listening to the most recent episode of the Park Life podcast over the weekend, featuring Warren Luff (who is one of the key leaders in the Hollywood Stunt Driver shows). At one point they discussed how when the Hollywood Stunt Driver changed to HSD 2, Showtime FX was given the contract to create the show, etc. (This was something I did already know, but just giving some background info). Mike Croaker said how the older shows in the main arena where created in house and operated by VRTP. Now, I am not bagging out Showtime FX because I can only imagine how much time, effort and skill goes into the shows and they are pretty good at what they do. They have a very talented team. However, I do wish the shows were still created in house. I’m sure the VRTP team still have their say on the shows, but they would mostly be directed by Showtime. Hollywood Stunt Driver was a great show (not quite at the level that Police Academy was), but the second version has never really got to that level. Great stunts, but the storyline has always seemed a bit confused or unpolished. And now Thunder Lake Stunt Show. The stunts are also great, but the story just isn’t the best. My point being, should the parks go back to creating these shows once again? Or how could Showtime improve/expand the current offerings?
  3. No I don’t maybe the fact that I have a life outside of this space and time is critical. After this comment makes me question the engagement piece. Anyhow i am going to leave this right here. Have a great day everyone. Best BR
  4. Makes sense. They will probably just always have the spinning train running and during peak periods have the other train operating too. This allows for extra normal seats for more riders that don’t want to pay the up charge of the spinning gondola.
  5. According to TPSN, the announcement is about the parks 30th anniversary
  6. It's also a matter of sacrificing a nonstop layout. Rivals has trims and you feel those. If it had sections where you could completely stop because their terrible operations have caused the train to stack again, it's a pretty boring ride.
  7. I kind of imagine DW's ride selection process for about the past couple of decades has been to jump on a ride manufacturer's website, click sort by lowest price, then click add to cart on the top result. Buzzsaw is a classic example of that.
  8. Seeing coaster track so close to Buzzsaw makes me sad that DW didn't get the extended version like Abismo:
  9. Busch Gardens has four trains for Montu even though the ride can only run three – it's a maintenance thing. Separately, if you want to see truly insane capacity, check out Olympia Looping on a busy day – with five seven-car trains it can handle of the order of four thousand guests per hour.
  10. See kiddie rides are the one area I think DW do really well with. I passionately hate ABC kids world, but a couple of really small rides and some slightly bigger kids rides in DreamWorks makes for a pretty decent selection. Also if ABC kids world and Motocoaster aren't going anywhere, then Motocoaster should be rethemed to the rocket clock from play school. Don't even attempt to change my mind because I know I'm right.
  11. The showtime FMX shows are average at best. Showtime FMX are best destined to do shows where there is no creativity, just stunts, fire and loud noises. Movie Worlds entertainment and shows used to be first class, now, well they are essentially just fillers to say they have entertainment. Village can do good entertainment, the shows at Paradise Country and AOS are prime examples of good showmanship. They should show that good showmanship in their parks as well.
  12. This was the original post and he had commented on it
  13. Hrmm, not sure what happened there. Unfortunately I don't have the option to edit the post any longer. It was just a potato quality photo of Doomsday testing.
  14. There is something wrong with your link
  15. I love them too and how they also have a boomerang on the front seat is also pretty cool plus I have a couple more photos to share
  16. My son loves Boating school.. And to be fair, so do I haha..Although I smash my knees on it every time hahahaha
  17. Please, enlighten us then. I'm sure there's many drone experts here who would be happy to be proven wrong if you are indeed the new DW drone person who's also allowed to upload the content to only your own Youtube channel.
  18. You got along a new path which is closer to MDMC from Main Street, under GD along the new path that goes towards Corroboree, then up the spaghetti paths to the GD queue
  19. Another piece of track was removed this week
  20. JDude95 the group in question are a great bunch of kids that have good fun and do the best they can, I don’t believe I get treated like god and not sure where you get this from. Nonetheless i don’t need any attention from anyone at this stage of my career. Connect and send me a DM on one of my social channels and I will meet with you so you can clearly see that my aspirations are not godly and I really don’t give a damn about what people think or how they treat me, be respectful and treat everyone fairly and be nice. You don’t have to have a million followers for me to comment on your platform, I do what I feel at any given moment and comment where I wish to, take care buddy and relax and look at things differently with positivity. The level of intelligence astounds me, oops I forgot, I thought I was on #MAFS 😂 just kidding, yes I know my whereabouts. Take care buddy.
  21. Hey buddy nothing to do with Greg grabbing the mike. Chalk and cheese. Sure...I can appreciate your excitement. It will be worth it over time. It’s is accurate and true. Announcement has been delayed but worth the wait guys. Please bear with me.
  22. I was never pumping self serve stations so am a bit lost on your comment here. The only reason I have not been here is out of sight and out of mind. I need to make more effort and I will. And it not a matter of why I am anywhere it’s convenient sometimes to be where I need to be. They are not a bunch of kids, they are good people trying to make a difference to their existence amongst other things. I don’t have any ambitions to be a god or have an ego that would warrant this. Face book is easy. I have reached out to Richard to have something here on a regular basis. But I will not accept immature comments and childish behaviour from anyone here to be clear. We all need to be respectful and act appropriately.
  23. When i went to islands of adventure in june 2019 we got there at 7:30am and had to wait about 8 hours to get on Hagrid's motorbike adventure which was insane but it was definitely worth it after riding, that was on the 14th of june the day after it officially opened so i think it was expected
  24. Good Morning everyone. And welcome to another exciting update of the construction. On Tuesday, I was looking from the Harbour Bridge on the train home, and I went. Oh goodie! A ride that will make me throw up! And that's the Sledgehammer... When I came back today, the poles that were there last week are now assembled. All that's left is the seats, and the loading platform. They've been replacing the boardwalk from Coney Island to Luna Land. This is in preparation for the new gate and sign. Which also looks a bit cartoony. That seems to be the coherent theme of this area. Because of the spot that Luna Land is. It's easier to change the theming. This can be seen in lots of parks around the globe! There have been no other rides put in other than Sledgehammer. They are doing some last jobs on Cloud 9 and Freaky Frog. And are gonna start testing Boomerang. Little Nippers is done. If you are wondering where these photos are taken at. The close up photos are taken at the Boardwalk and Peter Kingston Walkway. The 'Railway View' is taken on Cliff Street. The 'God's Eye View' is taken at the LPS Office on Glen Street. And views of the Big Dipper and over Coney Island are taken from Harry's Park on Glen Street. (Named after Harry Sidler.) That's all for today! Next update will be whenever I get there!
  25. Little Nipper was made by Preston & Barbieri and it is the same company that made Volaré if that was your question
  26. I just purchased mine and i think it's worth the price seeing i'll be there almost every weekend and on opening day
  27. Yeah I think they need to encourage people to come and join the party, rather than warn them away. Sydney is the perfect example of how to host the games - venues spread all over Sydney's greater metropolitan - right to the blue mountains, as far south as campbelltown and everywhere in between. Every 'event host' city council had their own little expos to encourage tourism and visitation. I personally worked on the expo put on by Penrith City, with the rowing and whitewater venues, and the equestrian events just down the highway. Homebush was a non-stop party, and Sydney did an excellent job of managing the transport requirements. Sydney also didn't suffer the 'white elephant' venue problem that many other countries have experienced - a new stadium that became regularly used as a home ground for several sport clubs, coupled with the ancillary venues surrounding it that is regularly used for events, concerts, the royal easter show etc. Many of the other venues continue to see regular use today including the baseball fields, equestrian centre and regatta centre. Even the athletes village was quickly converted into much needed housing for the area. (and the OLYMPIC LOGISTICS CENTRE SALES WERE CRAAAAAZAAAAAY! (Anyone remember those ads?)) The biggest thing that Brisbane (and the greater surrounds including the Sunshine and Gold Coasts) needs is transport infrastructure to manage the load. Our current train network is abysmal. The busways are ok, but the Pac motorway and the Bruce Highway aren't up to coping with any massive amounts of additional traffic the moment someone drops a spanner in the works. Everything for Brisbane is geared around the Brisbane CBD - if i'm in Coopers Plains and I want to travel to Darra - a train needs to go all the way to Roma St for me to interchange with the Ipswich or Springfield line. Everything is a line straight to the city. All of the interchange stations are one of the central areas close to the river, ergo the CBD. Honestly - relocating the Ekka into a greenfields space - perhaps up near boondall near the entertainment centre - doing a 'homebush' and creating a space that is - connected to arterial highways, out of the city gridlock, able to be easily connected to public transport hubs, and you're on a winner. Build a stadium and an arena, as well as supporting facilities to host a multitude of events (oh, and it won't flood like Suncorp) At least in Sydney, you can pretty much get anywhere on the network without going through the city if you need to. On topic - as Brad mentioned i'm fairly certain the parks will continue to add their usual attractions, although timing the opening of something close to the games wouldn't be a horrible idea. Wonderland did see an uptick in visitation during the games - but they were using the Wonderland carpark as park-and-ride parking for other event venues too. I think overall, tourism does see an increase - athletes, and their supporters are usually in town for the duration of the 2-3 weeks of the games (and more in preparation) but their events don't usually last the entire games, so they have a lot of time to explore - especially the fans who don't have to worry about training. TL:DR - Sydney was an absolute party, non stop, for the entire duration of the games. Everyone got on board, and there was no messaging to stay away, because the infrastructure could handle the load. They did everything right (although they started with a pretty good public transport network to begin with) and everything was designed for more than a single event use.
  28. Was there today, the Big Red Boat door is broken, so the ride is only running at half capacity and the ABC World continues its descent into disrepair. It's an embarrassment to the park.
  29. Maybe Big Brother is coming to Movie World.
  30. Really? Fuckwit? Are you a child? and I’ll await my stupid prize... You guys need to take a fkn chill pill. You know nothing about me or what I do.
