  1. Yes- why wouldn’t it be? It’s not the first coaster to be built locally using manufacturer specifications. Just because it has new trains does not intrinsically change the design and the fact that it was designed by Arrow Dynamics and built to Aussie specifications. This coaster may have got rougher over the years , especially since moving to Dreamworld, but it is actually passing into being a historical example of the ride type- especially in Australia. Let’s enjoy it for what it is. 👍
  2. Not to derail the topic completely, but I’ve often wondered if it could be retrofitted with the more modern Vekoma bucket seats with lap bars. It would eliminate the horrible shake it’s got and make it a really good family coaster.
  3. Just dunk it in Sydney Harbour, that'll make it below the height limit AND make it useful as a new habit for sea life, its pretty much all its good for anyway.
  4. Apples and oranges comparison. Wipeout was an unreliable ride type (that was one of 2 standing in the world at its closure with barely any spare parts around) that so many parks gave up on years ago. DW was lucky that ride was able to run as long as it did. Gold Coaster is the complete opposite, the ride is mechanically very simple and the layout isn't forceful enough to put much stress on the track compared to bigger rides of the same model. DW should be able to get 10 years out of it at a minimum if maintained correctly.
  5. I think you've got two seperate things colliding here to make things appear worse than they are... Firstly Dreamworld knows they are in the crap, they weren't doing well before Covid and public perception was at an all time low. So they HAVE to plow ahead with everything they had planned to try and get a bumper summer and turn the place around. Then you have Village who were doing extremely well prior to covid, a very sound company. And one that has just been bought by a company with financials first and foremost at the front of their mind. Now we have the biggest downturn in trading since the extended closure of 2020, I'd almost hazard a guess being open loses them money. So they've pulled back their spending to try and keep the balance sheet in check. Then when the people flock back they can kick all their plans back into gear and look good in the books, because regardless they'll have solid trade coming in simply due to their solid brand position in the market. So you simultaneously have Dreamworld being desperate, and Village being cautious which make Village look a bit on the decline from the outside. I'd say once the tourist floodgates open again they'll swing back into full gear
  6. There's plenty of older custom Arrow Loopers out there still operating in the world. Whilst it is the only one that has ever been relocated it would be a shame to lose a piece of history, the fact they've done a couple of big refurbs in recent years shows the park thinks it has a good amount of life left in it.
  7. 100%. It's a unique coaster from a former powerhouse in the industry. We should try to do what we can for it.
  8. I don't see LPM getting a new major ride for some time. The Park is owned by the Linfox company, I believe. So even tho LPS is getting yet another Big Dipper LPM does not need to respond at all. LPM has local competition with Gumbya and Funfields anyway. Buzzsaw won't be going to any of the Luna Parks. As much as some might want it to it's just never going to happen. The ride will end up most likely overseas I believe.
  9. Once again agree 100%. It’s had a good maintenance period, it’s been repainted, rethemed and it’s had new trains. The mechanics for this ride are fairly simple and parts should never be a problem. There are far older coasters than this still running perfectly well. It should have many good years left in her - that’s the short version.
  10. Torrented Closed for Storm, but wasn't amazing, wouldve just prefered a normal BSF video on it instead tbh. I will watch (not pay for though) This is how we Roll, but dont expect great things considering its Taylor from Coaster Studios and hes such a brat, and I have little confidence in his ability to properly put together a documentary. Any interviews with Shilke and Grubb im interested in listeing to though!
  11. "Hello? The New Atlantis, open for business! Who are you to resist it, huh?"
  12. After all the hype, and buildup, and delays, that was the biggest disappointment. #brightsunfilms
  13. @taronga the same could be said for Australia Zoo. They have got plenty of animals that aren’t Australian
  14. I’d be okay with that, tbh.
  15. They've also learned from Wipeout... that's literally what the last few comments have been about? Also no idea what other thread this could be posted but DW should probably have a quick look at the DreamWorks area for things to be cleaned up... before the ST opening
