  1. NGL after seeing WOZ in person this week, that structure would have been mint!
  2. Has anybody seen the state of of the temple? It has all the durability of a $1.00 souvenir. No wonder they keep pushing.the opening back.
  3. Unfortunately intact and usable are 2 very different states of play. I drive past almost daily as I live very close by. The waterpark has been left to rot for the past 2 years, the whole place is covered in graffiti and lots of things have been broken and damaged by trespassers. I'm not encouraging it, but there are a lot of videos floating around showing what it looks like/what damage has been done. Honestly if it is sold it may be that the whole place needs to be demolished and started from scratch. The local community really wants the slides to stay (or be replaced) but that may not be possible. It's a difficult business model to make money from, only open for a short period each year due to climate, so how do you make money year round? To be fair I think a better option would be a new indoor facility with slides that can be operated year round, but that would require a large investment.
  4. But they probably still will (repeat the same mistakes). I haven't had VRTP passes in a while. We decided to get them this year and see what had changed. We visited MW for the first time this week. While we had some delights during our day that made us think there were improvements, we had a number of disappointments that left a sour taste in our mouths and we're already regretting the decision and contemplating when we'd budget for DW passes again. I have no evidence to back it up, but I feel almost certain if the same issue had occurred in DW, staff would have at least tried to make things right. I also couldn't help but walk through the park seeing choices that seem like frustrating cost cutting that previously I would have written off as village not caring about the experience, but in hindsight I now think about executives stuffing their pockets and it just makes me angry.
  5. By all accounts BGH were essentially hands off for the first few years; their role was to support the existing team in exchange for a reasonable return on their investment. What little insight we get into their financials now suggests that return has failed to materialise. There hasn't been a noticeable lack of investment like say we saw with Dreamworld for many years, it's just been that so much of what Village have done has fallen flat. I'd say the recent management upheaval is the first clear indication that BGH aren't happy with how the company has been operated and are looking for change. And if these embezzlement allegations means greater scrutiny is given to all supplier relations then that can surely only be a good thing given how much Village outsources these days. The long-term squandering of the post-TRR advantage is classic Village. See their film production business, stance on streaming and countless other businesses and opportunities that fizzled or simply never happened.
  6. As far as I can tell, MW has removed every trace of the precinct from their website and the name of the precinct has been removed from the map. MW has quietly erased DC Super-Villains Unleashed so thoroughly, I’m expecting historians in 50 years to argue whether it ever existed at all.
